Another move this franchise can make is taking the C off of McDonagh because his post game comments alone after these horrific loses show a complete lack of leadership. The same deflecting blase answers that exactly reflect the way this team plays on the ice. Whatever moves they make they had better bring some real leaders in here. To Hank's credit he's the only one who ever seems to care. The others are laughing on the bench while the team is getting their ass kicked.

It starts with the coach. I blame the players also, but when the coach is so calm after every bad call the players lose their drive. Sullivan complains after every call, AV is chewing his gum. He needs to go. That is step 1!

I don't agree on the fact that these aren't high school kids. Professionals getting paid millions shouldn't be losing their drive to play. Messier would never of allowed this nonsense to occur. These are contract fat cats who don't care. Torts got fired so how many coaches are going to be the excuse?

First off asking where the leadership on this team is after a game like last night (and really the last 4 home games) is a great question. Last night was a joke.

Secondly, I hate the Messier comparisons. Messier is arguably the best Captain/leader in NHL history when you think about it and one of the best leaders in all of sports. Messier's don't really exist so I hate the comparisons or saying "Messier would have done this...."

I do think there is a leadership void on the team and more than that there is a void of players who play their best when the games count the most.

They need more Justin Williams type players and less Rick Nash type players.

I'm not saying they are going to be Messier but they should follow the example. Nobody on this team ever seems to care about losing. Your captain shouldn't be standing there making excuses.

Totally agree Mess - I hated everything about how they responded last night including usual stuff from McD.

Agree completely. Never thought McD should have been the captain and bothered me more the way he politicked for it. Doesn't have the fire for it imo and never see him challenge the refs like just about all the other captains do when they pull a call out of their asses. And with a pacifist coach they cannot have a pacifist captain also
