The fact Sergio played 14 seconds tonight? Or the fact he got two shots off in 14 seconds? Man, what a chucker.
Read the stats more closely. He played 14 seconds, got one offensive rebound and had one shot blocked. Scenario: - Sergio goes in to take a shot - shot is blocked - Sergio gets the blocked shot (offensive rebound) - Sergio shoots again (and misses) There you have it. Two shots (one blocked, one missed), one offensive rebound and one shot blocked. Not a bad showing for 14 seconds! Gramps...
You're right! From now on we should refer to Sergio as 'the one that got away'. If only we knew then what we know now
Well, we are all reminded on a regular basis that he is a future HOF'er. I will admit to having high hopes for Sergio his rookie season - he exhibited great vision and I thought that he could address other parts of his game. Unfortunately, he did nothing to address any other parts of his game and that one-dimensional aspect to his game allowed people to play him different thus reducing the effectiveness of the one dimension in which he had usable skills. I wonder if the Kings weren't paying Udrih all that money, then Sergio would be the backup there. Must be tough being the third-string PG for the worst team in the league.
Hmmm... are you sure that counts an offensive rebound? If a shot is blocked, it never touches the rim or the backboard. (It's like when someone loses the ball on a deflection but gets it back without the other team ever gaining full possession of it, it doesn't count as 2 steals.) Also, if a shot is blocked and someone from the defending team gets it, they don't get a defensive rebound. At least that was my understanding.
