I was just wondering which teams have the biggest fan base. If somebody could make a list through 1 to 30, from most biggest fan base to smallest. Or just post us a link answering the question. Thanks guys
I think if you could find out how many people watched the games on TV is the best indication, I don't know if you can find that out. Otherwise looking at arena attendance probably isn't always accurate but helps. As well a team that has recent struggles might have a big fan base with less active and less interested fans. My guess is probably the Lakers, Bulls and Celtics are up there with their past (for the Lakers its recent too) championships. The Suns seem to be a team that a lot of people watch (I might have a skewed perspective, b/c Canadians might watch Nash more and that is advertised) I'm guessing the Mavs have a strong local fan-base, the Heat probably have become more popular since Shaq arrived.
That's hard to accurately find. If you mean by attendance record then that would be the Chicago Bulls.
No, not the biggest fanbase on JBB. I just want to know like which teams have the most fans overall. Like which teams are the most popular around the world (Or Just in America/Canada) Or if there is a way to find the attendance record for each team (This year). Or how about finding how many people live in each teams city, that might be easier.
Come on guys. If its too hard to find actual facts and statistics. You can just post your personal opinion, and who you think has the biggest fan base. From 1 to 30 (From Biggest fan base to smallest) Im still abit undecided on what team to go for, this may help me.
Definitely Rockets. America + China = biggest fanbase. If I had to guess some other team, it would be Lakers. They're famous around the world. And Bulls are still famous around the world because of MJ.
Knicks and Celtics have been around since the NBA started and have never changed locations. Despite some bad seasons recently, the Knicks are always amongst the top in revenue. According to Forbes, they are also the most valuable team. That has a lot to do with the fans. Lakers are also a big market team with a rich history and currently have the best player in the world. I would say they have a pretty strong fan base.
Yea, I'm surprised no one mentioned the Knicks. I mean, a front office like NY's would've forced most NBA teams to relocate. But their fanbase still comes out in huge numbers (even if they come to boo the team). The Lakers probably have the strongest fanbase. They have the LA market cornered and have pretty loyal fans. What's more, most foreign fans tend to gravitate towards the Lakers, because they're more recognizable and popular (kind of like the Yankees/Cowboys).
In the world, hands down Bulls and Lakers. You go anywhere you'll find someone wearing a Bulls or Lakers jersey, hat, shirt, etc. When I go to Europe for instance I see nothing but Bulls equipment (majority with Pippen or Jordan stuff) and every person I meet they're all about the Bulls and/or Lakers. The Knicks have a big fanbase for sure, but mostly in the US. If you want my personal opinion I think the Bulls have one of the best if not the best fanbases. Even when they sunk to their lowest level from '99 to '03 fans still turned out and sold out games. When the Bulls started their 03-04 season at 0 wins and 9 losses people still were selling out games. At the end of that season the fans helped push the team into Playoff contention as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Last I heard the Bulls have the longest streak of sell out games going right now at somewhere around 200 games if not more. However, don't pick a team based on their popularity. Pick a team that's right for you.
Whenever I attend Pistons games I always see people wearing Kobe jerseys so I'd say the Lakers have a pretty big fanbase. I'd also add the Bulls and Knicks to that list.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting M Two One:</div><div class="quote_post">The Knicks have a big fanbase for sure, but mostly in the US.</div> Yea, that's true. On the other hand, I'd say NY probably has the strongest home fanbase.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yea, that's true. On the other hand, I'd say NY probably has the strongest home fanbase.</div> I donno about that either, at best tied with Chicago. Both teams, no matter how much they suck when they do, they still sell out.
Hmmm. Im still going to stick with the Bucks. But I want another favourite team to root for. So I think its going to be out of....... Toronto Bulls I like both Toronto and Bulls, but I only want to root for one. Bulls are on TV today, so I guess after that I could make my choice.
You shouldn't just pick a team to root for just because you want to root for a team. Pick one that's right for you
