The Midrange jumper is a very rare thing in the nba. Gone are the Adrian Dantleys and Michael jordans, now there there are only two shots in the NBA...behind the three point line or a drive to the basket. Curling through screens and popping for a quick and easy two is something that is lost on these players where only a few utilize the true power of the midrange jumper. Okay enough drama...I may be going out on a limb here but I believe the player with the best midrange jumper is Ray Allen. Other notables...Sam Cassell(Very close to being the best), Peja(best shooter coming off a screen), Kobe(Best pullup jumper), Duncan(the master of using the glass) What does everyone else think?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Prophecy:</div><div class="quote_post">Glenn Robinson and Sam Cassell have great mid range jumpers. I say one of those two.</div> I would say the same thing, they have good mid-range jumpers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Prophecy:</div><div class="quote_post">Glenn Robinson and Sam Cassell have great mid range jumpers. I say one of those two.</div> No doubt. Big Dog usually gets lost in the shuffle. He's got a deadly mid-range jumper thats usually money.
You guys have yet to name one of the best mid-range shooters in the NBA Rip Hamilton He is the prefect player for hitting midrange jumpers,so good coming off screens.Thats his game.

sam cassell has the deadliest mid range game iv seen of anyone...rip is good, so is jalen and big dog in the mid range, but cassell just seems automatic
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trail_Blazer76:</div><div class="quote_post">I cannot believe that this thread exists and nobody has mentioned Ray Allen and H20.</div> I mentioned Allen in the first post who is H20? I think everyone is sleeping on Allen because of the injuries....he'll be back on everyones list before this season is over.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post">I mentioned Allen in the first post who is H20?</div> My bad on the Ray Allen thing. H20 is Allan Houston
Cassell, Peja, and Robinson would be my top picks. Also Cuttino Mobley has a nice mid-range jumper, as well as Rip.
Sam Cassell by far is the best mid-range shooter. Sam can get his mid-range shot off his own dribble. Can Rip hamilton? hell no. Sam Cassell can get his mid range off post ups. Can rip? once again no. Rip mid range game comes mainly off running off of screens & catching timely passes by the point guard. That why when Billups was struggling distributing the basketball, Rip Hamilton was the piston who struggled the most to score. Allan Houston is another one that needs someone else help to get his shot off. And Glenn Robinson just chucks jump alot of mid-range shots, but he isnt in sam league when it comes to making them on a consistent bases.

Not very, because defenders are focusing on KG and Spree as well. Besides, Ray Allen can do all of the things that you are bragging about Cassel doing.
