Defense wins championships. I think we proved which unit is superior in the Super Bowl a few years ago

that offense was unstoppable. and had all new players that werent exposed yet so nobody could cover them. like holt was a rook, and warner was a first year starter. wasnt that team 13-3 or 14-2

Id rather play against the Patriots...the Rams O might have been the best offense ever...no way the Patriots defense is in the top 3 of all time

I cant agree with that....The Ravens set the scoring record and they set the total shutout record, but consider who the shut outs were agianst...1.Cincinnatti, a shitty team that year...2.Pittsburgh, the Steelers were 5-11 I think....3.Dallas, also 5-11....and 4.Cleveland, 3-13 if I remember, so its not like they were good teams....The '85 Bears were better in my opinion, heres why: 1.They went 15-1, the Ravens lost 4 regular season games adn did not win thier division...2.The Bears shut out both playoff opponents, thats right, 0 points given up in the playoffs and just 10 in the Super Bowl....3.The Bears defense is from an era of fantastic QBs, Marino, Montana, Elway, those guys were all retired by the time the Ravens defense peaked, and the NFL was experiencing a down offensive period(Rams and Vikings withstanding)....4.How many future Hall of Famers did the ravens have on defense?? Ray Lewis and Rod Woodson, but who else?? The Bears had atleast 3(Dent, McMichael and Singletary) and time will tell if there were more....all told the Bears were superior to the Ravens...

Thats a legidimate beef there. However if
like to go back that far. Then you forget to
mention the steel curtain defense and the
doomsday defenses all have there say and
whos the best ever. I like to say the ravens
are the best cause atheletes are bigger, faster
in todays nfl then it was in 84. Thats my opinon
    tho. Good beef tho.

Statistically, the Ravens defense of a few years back was the best in history, though if I needed a defense to win one "must win" game for me, I'd take the 85 Bears.

The Bears of that year would hold all the records if not for that fluke game in Miami that landed them at 15-1.

99 rams could beat anybody. the next few years, the eagles gave them the toughest competition and the rams only lost when they turned the ball over alot.

    Dawk,

I have to say i agree the rams had this superbowl.
One problem, which is there problem to this day.
Why did martz abonded faulk? When they played
the patriots and lost, faulk had 68 yards rushing on
6 carrys going into half time, guess how many carrys
he had total end of the superbowl. 11 carrys for
the best rb in the nfl at the time.

18 carrys for 5 quarters of football vs the panthers.
Once again rams lose another playoff game.
Rams lose the last game of the year to the
detroit lions and lose homefield advantage
when marshall has 13 carrys the whole game.
If faulk doesnt get 25 carrys the rams are beatible.
