For me its a tie between the Celtics and Bulls.

Pierce and Allen always seems to kill the Nets and both of them together just seems like one big headache, that was before adding KG to the mix.

Chicago is a year older and wiser, on paper they match up best against NJ.

The Bulls were the first that came to mind...they've got a core that has been together for a while, and they have given the Nets trouble before.

    Bulls then Celtics.

The Celtics may have their big 3 which would tear up our defense, butoverall I think we match up pretty well with them. bulls always give us problems and they are arguably the best team in the East.

    Wizards, Raptors, Heat and Magic.

If they all make the playoffs, the Nets won't.

As long as Kidd and Carter are matched up against two smaller players in Hinrich and Gordon, I think the Nets have a pretty good chance against the Bulls. The Celticsshould bea tougher match up, imo.

Dime Magazine in talking about the NBA television schedule called the Nets and the Bulls the "two forgotten teams" of the Eastern Conference. That about says it all.

I like what the Raptors have done, adding Baston, Kapono and Delfino to give them some depth and some shooting...doesnt hurt that two of them have played on championship teams. Internal improvement should be big for them as well.

I also think the Heat could with some smart deals be fine. Mikhael Pietrus and Dorrell Wright could go a long way towards stabilizing that roster. It's been tipping too old of late. I think Wade becomes more of a PG this year as well...leaving Smush to fill in.

Cleveland has Lebon and deep playoff experience, but they have yet to sign their top two young players in Pavlovic and Varejao...and they're considering Troy Hudson! They dont want to spend a lot of money.

Detroit is Detroit until someone goes down and they are overdue. I can see the Wiz taking off if things go right for them...health and continuity should be a big help. Same with Milwaukee.

Atlanta and Charlotte have the players...they just need some smarts. Same with Sixers...very nice draft.

I think the Magic has screwed themselves. Losing Milicic, Hill and (to a lesser extent) Diener for nothing, picking up a huge albatross of a contract in Lewis and having no first rounder in the strongest draft in years...all bodes poorly for them.

Boston I think is overrated unless they surprise with additional pickups. The Knicks will struggle and then have to make some major adjustments, putting highly paid players on the bench.

    Pacers are hopeless.

Explain how the Celtics are overrated. Yes, their bunch is weak and so is their depth but comon man, they have 3 players who you can argue are top 15 in the world. (KG top 5)

And yes, a lot of fans are saying they'll make it to the finals (part of being excited after so many years of sucking), but other than that you have to give credit to the team and expect them to be in the mix for the ECF. Nothing overrated about that. Same as the Pistons are expected to make it to the ECF.

Look at the Spurs, you could argue that they have three of the top 15 players in the world too. Except 4-12 they're way better than the Celtics. Finley, Bowen, Horry, Barry, Oberto, Eslson and Udrih are all better than what Bosotn has. Granted, it's probably tougher to get to the WCF than it is to get to the ECF but I still don't think the Celtics will do it this year. The year after, I wouldn't be surprised but this season is too soon to assemble a top notch team.

I'd say the Bulls and Pistons are the only two teams that really scare me.

Except Duncan who you could argue is a top 5, none of them are better than Ray Allen or Paul Pierce. Make your case.

Player by player, say KG is Celtics best player, the next best one is Paul, who is second best after Duncan? Parker?, Paul is better than him. You see what I mean? Celtics argueable the best top three players in the league. If you rank each team, Boston will come first for the first three.

Every single one of the Spurs big three are better in terms of accomplishments compared to the Celtics big three.

How would like it added up for you; playoff series won or championship rings?

Ray Allen is not a top 15 player anyway.

If you rank teams on players 4-12 the Celtics will come in last every time.

Well yeah cause they rode on Duncan's back. Parker on any other team would be a nobody. Bibby is 10 times better than him but hasn't accomplished anything cause he never had a Duncan, KG, Shaq type of player besides him. On one good year from Webber they reached the WCF. (the rest went downhill due to injuries)

Again, yeah the management has been great, they have a great coach and have brough in veterans that were hungry to win and helped Duncan do it. Again take either one, Bowen, whatever, put him in another team and they'll become just average players. The thing is what has worked for them is the coaching system, and the GM who knew how to build the team. Add in a little bit of luck and there you have it.
Ray Allen is not a top 15 player anyway.
Arguably the best shooter in the world. Just that is enough to make him top 10. But I'll say top 15. Remember Peja in one good year was even mentioned as an MVP and got votes for it. All he does is shoot. Ray is lets say 5 times better than Peja.

Top 3 you can argue are top in the league. Rondo we'll see this year what happens, could be just how Parker elevated his game due to playing with Duncan. Rondo has KG now. (and two other allstars)

Perkins, in 20mpg gave you 4.5ppg, 5rpg and 1bpg. Lets see this year how he develops. I don't want to go on with the rest but saying that they're last every time for players 4-12 is kinda wrong. Don't be surprised if they win it all with those last players.

Wait, so you're saying Manu and Parker are garbage and rode Duncan's back to all those titles?

Damn, Duncan must be the best player in the world and certainly not KG like you suggest.

I will be surprised if the Celtics even make to the ECF because Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto, New Jersey and Washington all have much better teams than Boston does.

Nocioni is better than Manu. Is Nocioni top 20? Not even top 50. But you see, when you play with a big guy, whos the best at it, then you become better and it seems like Manu is some kind of a superstar where in reality all he does is flop.

All I'm saying is now we have KG surrounded by two other stars, and hopefully Danny bring some veterans and the team will be much better than when KG went to the WCF with Sprewell and Cassell. He played in the west remember? Dominates his position. Or ok lets say they're both the same KG and Duncan. Now he's in the East and all the other teams can do is pray that someone gets hurt and ruins the season. Other wise, healthy, no one will stop them. If not this year, the next one for sure.
