They have SF/PF locked up...thats what positions a lot of the current picks play...so who do you think they will go after?

Maybe draft Randy Foye, they could use a nice PG. Or Brandon Roy if he's willing to play PG.

Rudy Gay. We have to pick not for position but for talent when you have the #1 pick. Rudy can play Guard and Forward. Who else would we take anyway that is in the top 5 position? We only have Joey Graham. He can come off the bench and Charlie can just bo along Bosh at Center.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Nemesis @ May 23 2006, 09:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Maybe draft Randy Foye, they could use a nice PG. Rudy Gay would be an amazing pick for the Raptors. Reuniting with Charlie Villanueva. Rudy Gay is only 19 years old and has all the skills needed. I've said everything in the book on Gay so i'm not going to repeat myself. :happy0144:

He can do it all. He is the most talented player and he can play guard too. We gotta take him.

Why? He's strictly a SF who can't defend. He doesn't fit, you pick him then Villanueva has to sit on the bench.

Center. But I mean really, who are they going to pick at center? I havent heard alot about big-time centers that are entering the draft, maybe Boone or Armstrong, but no way in hell Toronto picks them first. They might pursue Francisco Elson in free agency and aquire Rudy Gay at No. 1.

The raptors should pick Andrea Bargnani. - Hes a center we need- Hes is like the next dirk- He can shoot and rebound WHAT WE NEED.hes perfect for the raptors.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Word around the league, at least from a couple of front office types and other insiders who were in Detroit for Game 7 of the Piston-Cavaliers series, is that Toronto knows exactly who it wants to draft no matter what happens in the lottery. Say hello to Andrea Bargnani. And they are probably going to get that chance. A team or two are worried that Bargnani, who I'm told is enamoured of Colangelo and the Raptors, may put out word that he's quite happy to stay in Europe to dissuade a team or two from drafting him.</div>http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=970081562040

From what I hear that's a smokescreen, but he seems like a fit. There's no legit first pick, so whoever they pick should be fine.

It'll be Morrison, since Colangelo used to be part of the Suns, he'll decided to take Bosh, a young athletic big man, a la Amare, and move him to Center. Villanueva, another good athlete who can step out and hit jumpers and crash the boards hard, a la Shawn Marion, will be moved to PF. Morrison, a good shooter, a la Q-Rich, JJ, Raja, etc, would be a great fit to a system that Colangelo knows is succesful.Thats just my thoughts though...

With Rudy Gay on their side the Raptors will develop greatly as a team with the young trio Villanueva, Bosh, and Rudy Gay, DEAR GOD! I think the bulls will grab tyrus thomas

While Morrison is a good basketball player, and has a good mid range game, his play is not good for that system. He is not athletic or fast enough to run up and down the court with that style of play. Morrison's outside shot is not reliable enough for the system either, as he did not shoot to well from three last year at the college level. That is with the line closer, at an NBA level, his three point shot will not be very good at all. In this system, they will need a 3 that is fast, and can shoot the three. Morrison will fit into neither of those categories.

Adam Morrison is strictly a SF so where do you put Charlie Villanueva then? I just don't think Morrison is a good fit either.

Why pick Gay, when there is CV31 at SF, then Mopete at SG?

I want themt o trade it, but if they picked someone, they should pick a big man or PG. That European would be a decent fit, however he doesn't seem like that tough presence they need.

I agree that Morrison wouldnt be a good pick here. I really think they need a center or a point guard. Due to the lack of great talent at either position in this draft, i would have to agree with you guys on Rudy Gay. I think he is more proven than Tyrus Thomas and i beleive he'll be the better pro. I honestly wouldnt be suprised if they picked LaMarcus and had him play the center position and have Bosh and Charlie V. at the foward positions. NBAdraft.net has LaMarcus going number 1. I think they need to trade down because they can still get a guy like Gay or Aldridge with something like the 5th pick or so. Lets say they traded down and got an additional pick or something and the 5th pick from Atlanta and let Atlanta get Tyrus Thomas or Bargnani with the 1st pick, they could still easily get Rudy Gay with the 5th pick. And if Gay is gone, Marcus Williams would be a good fit.

Didnt we learn that we pick for talent, not positions in the 04 draft? Gay is multi dimensional and is an athletic freak. Sam will find a way to give him minutes and CHarlie can play at all the frontcourt spots. Mo Pete could start this year and be 6th man the year after and Gay could play sf and sg. Matt Bonner can leave after next year.

Tough decision, I like this Andrea Bargnani kid, however someone like Thomas may be a better fit because from what I have read he has a more physical side to him the Andrea
