I think the committee did a pretty crappy job this year. How does teams like Air Force and Utah State get into the tournament over teams like Cincinnati and Michigan? Tennessee and UCLA shouldn't have got a #2 seeds, George Washington's seeding was rediculous(#8), Nevada a #5?...I could go all day!

I do, however, think this is the most wide open tournament in some time!

I agree. But this is what happens when every conference gets automatic bids. Inevitably, teams that should qualify get left out.

I totally agree, Utah St. gave Nevada a run for their money but Nevada #5!?!? No f'in way they're worth that, I thought they'd be a 8 seed or something like that. Air Force though [IMG] Tell me why they got in but a team that lost to a 5 seed in the Tourney doesn't make it? 1 more thing, how did Xavier get so low, that's the worse 3-14 matchup in the history of the tourney, I really feel bad for Zags' luck, from contention for #1 seed to being hopped by UCLA, UCLA isn't worth that #2 seed, trust me [IMG]

I can't believe Cinncinati and Michigan got left out. That is crazy. Did Kent State or Murray State even win their conferences?

^^Kent state did i'm pretty sure. And yeah i think UCLA deserved a 3 seed, but not a two seed. Does anyone else find it kind of funny that Syracuse went from being a team that people didn't even think should be in the tourney, to getting a 5 seed. I'm not saying they aren't good enough for that 5 seed, i just think it's interesting. But yeah this year i think there is the potential for a lot of upsets.

Well, I just got home and looked at the full brackets, and despite the fact that my Badgers are not playing well right now, allow me to list the teams who got higher seeds than us but who have lesser resumes and/or I think we would/could beat: Cal, Arkansas, Marquette (we beat them by 14 earlier this year), Kentucky, Wichita State, Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma and Georgetown.

Beyond that; Tennessee a #2? Are you f*cking kidding me? The SEC got SIX BIDS? THE SAME NUMBER AS THE BIG 10? PLEASE TELL ME THAT'S A MOTHER LOVING JOKE. They really messed these brackets up in some cases. Nevada a #5? [IMG] Florida a #3? [IMG] UAB got the same seed as us. The difference in SOS, RPI, and just about everything else is astonishing. My Badgers get screwed EVERY year, but this is easily the most offensive screw we've ever received. I am pissed. PISSED. George Washington at 8?! Pure comedy. Tell me how your national rank during the season is higher than your tourney ranking?! This one tops them all.

Tenn. at 2. Bruce Pearl didn't even expect that one. When they announced that his reaction was, "Holy sh*t."

    Nevada. Pshh.

Air Force? Whaaas with this? Cincy should be in.

Seems like the committe made these picks on Thursday, and took the rest of the week off.

    Yeah...they screwed up.

They need to either change the official criteria on how they select, or they need a new commitee, because they are not going according to the guidlines they claim to go by. Not only are the seeds rediculous, but the teams that got in vs. the ones who didnt. And the teams seeded close to or higher than teams who's resume was nowehere near the same group of seeds. It was total ass. Plain and simple. This year was one of the worst ever.

    Yup.

This is the worst selection I have ever seen in my time with college basketball.

Air Force was a joke. One of the worst resumes to ever make the tournament.

    I don't know why Pitt was only a #5.
I don't know how they ever thought Tennessee should be a #2.

I don't mind that Gonzaga was a #3, that seems about right. They won't make the Sweet 16.
Nevada as a #5 makes sense based on their RPI and their number of wins.

    Here's what they should do:

#1- Pick a new committee of college b-ball guys that know their stuff, Joe Lunardi, Dicky V, Jay Bilas, Doug Gottlieb, and Digger.

#2- Give them a 6 pack and a pizza as requested by Joe Lunardi

#3- All the source they need, keyword is need because they know everything.

#4- Make it a reality show so people can see how they got these teams.

#5- just make all the 16 seeds play in games

    That's what I think [IMG]

Dicky V and Digger know their stuff? I don't even know if Gottlieb knows what he's talking about. Digger definately doesn't.

If Digger was on the committe he would have put the 16 BIg East teams and the 13 ACC teams.

Florida deserves a #3. We've won our last 5 and won the SEC Tourney. Tennessee SHOULDN'T be a 2 though.

Yeah I'm on board for maybe Digger, Lunardi, and Bilas, however, if Dukie V and Doug Gottlieb were on the commitee, we'd have Duke and Oaklahoma St number one seeds every year, and Duke's bracket region would consist of Eat Nowehere St, Middle Bumblfuck College, Southwest Texas HS, North Carolina A&M Region Middle School, and John F Kennedy Elementary.

This would be an absolute worst case scenario; Gottlieb, Dukie V and Digger are the three biggest homers in college ball. Might as well throw in Billy PACCer, too, and then Woody Paige. We'd end up with the 8th place finisher in the ACC getting a 6 seed, OK State with a #1 every year, and I don't know what exactly Woody would F' up, but it'd be something [IMG] [IMG]

Those people picking the brackets on SportCenter was a joke. They didn't pick any upsets. I was suprised Duke wasn't in all of their Final Fours.

They need to make the selections like you do for a blind taste test. Every team eligilble should have their season highlights listed and then you go from there.

I cannot believe Cal got a #7 seed, and I'm a huge fan of theirs. I thought they would be lucky to get a #10 seed.

Tennessee a #2 seed is laughable.
