I think if United would want to get a better season that his yr. Here is what I think united should do in the transfer market in the summer.

    1. A 20-25 goal-a-season striker. We need an out-to-out striker. I think Eto'o would be a fantastic buy cuz he scores goals at a regular basis and at the highest level and he still scores goals now even though he suffered an bad injury. And if we don't get eto'o. We should get Andy Johnson. No, don't laugh, im serious. He has scored 12 goals this season and that is not a bad record playing for a club who doesn't play that much football. If he plays for united, i think he would get excellent services from the likes of giggs, ronaldo, carrick and scholes. He is a predator, he has pace and he is a clinical finisher, i think he is definitely better than Saha.

    2. Some reinforcements in the centre of midfield. Im not saying we should buy hargreaves cuz he costs lots of money and carrick has started to look fit into the united system. O'shea doesn't have quality over there and giggs should stay at the left. So maybe a Sidwell from Reading or Bullard from Fulham cuz they're energetic and they have also a little bit of quality.

    3. Get back Ben Foster. I think he has had a fantastic season at Watford and I think he should be a great replacement of van Der Sar.

    4. Another versatile defender who could play everywhere at the back or even in midfield just in case we lost another player. Maybe get back Evans from Sunderland or buy Rigdewell from Aston Villa.

Andy Johnstone.. Bullard.. Ridgewell? Are you a United fan? These will never EVER EVER EVER wear a United Shirt and play for us. If we really need a striker, Huntelaar, Owen, Torres, Trezeguet are just some names that we should consider buying. If we were to tighten up the midfield abit, Sidwell is not an option because he will want 1st team football. Another defender when we have Neville, Brown, Heinze, Ferdinand, O'Shea, Evra!

Hey, i never said Andy Johnson was my first choice. Eto'o would be my striker plus Andy Johnson would look good in a gd team. Carrick and Scholes are playing well together so we just need back-up to the midfield. At the moment O'Shea doesn't look good at the centre plus Giggs should always play at the left.

Andy Johnston shouldn't be in any of your choices, neither should Bullard or Ridgewell. O'Shea is perfect back-up when we need him, ask Liverpool [IMG]

Look at Mascherano for example, he looked poor at West Ham, but he plays well for Liverpool because they're a good team. If Andy Johnson can get all the services from giggs or a ronaldo, I think he would get on the end of it because united has soo much quality

I've heard rumblings of Tevez to United but that would be a mistake. He's far too similar to Rooney in his style of play and the way he prefers to play off the striker rather than alongside.

Huntelaar would be ideal. He's young, he's hungry and he's an out-and-out poacher who would compliment Rooney's game. Eto'o, I think, wouldn't be a success in the physical, fast-paced English game. He prefers to stray too wide and cut inside, which is exactly Ronaldo and Rooney's games.

Yes Huntelaar would also be another gd choice. No disrepect but hes playing at the Dutch league. 19 goals in 29 games compared to eto'o's, i still would want eto'o because he would get u goals.

Listen to yourself, how can you say Andy Johnston would be good at United. Mascherano was already an accomplished player before he came to England. But its embarrasing that you even think AJ would go good at United

Yes masherano was already a accomplished player but he was poor at West Ham cuz they're a poor team. If Johnson gets the oppurtunity i'm sure he'll excell. Just look at Soklsjaer. He was unheard of when he came to United from Norway. But look at him now.

An injury prone player on the brink of retirement! Dude, just shut it, Andy Johnston to United is pathetic. If you are even a United fan you yourself would know this.

Goalkeeper - Bring back Foster from loan

    Midfielders - Hargreaves, Sneijder

Fowards - Sell Saha and bring in Torres or Villa or Eto'o

Dont think United need a defender at present but maybe next season or season after to replace G.Nev

Johnson just needs the oppurtunity. With the type of players around him and under the guidance of Sir Alex. He'll just continue to improve. At at the age of 25, hes at the right age and he is also English, so he is used to the pace of the English game. Vidic was unknown, but he has been a revelation before he got injured this season. It's not all about the big names.

Your right, its not about the big names, its about the talent. Thats why Fergie sends his scouts out to different countries, to pick potential buys. Vidic was a great solid buy through being scouted. Andy Johnston is crap through and through, simple as that.

Vidic wasn't an unknown. He was in the Serbian World Cup team, who had the best defensive record of all the teams in Europe in the qualifiers. He was identified as the main reason and was known well before United picked him up. Just because he wasn't splashed all over the back pages doesn't mean he was garbage until he pulled on the red shirt of United. Christ, I'm sure if I knew about him then I'd sincerely hope that United's scouts did too.

I don't think Eto'o would be good for United at all. He's too prone to spreading out wide, and that coupled with Rooney's tendency to drop back or sit out wide, would mean we would still have no option down the middle and still no poacher or target man.

Johnson is not crap, he has pace, he is clinical, he is a predator and he is an out to out striker. He has talent. You just think he is crap just because he used to play for crystal palace and now plays for everton. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, United also need another superstar in the making, and that is Nani from Sporting Lisbon.

sry about that, u're right, vidic wasn't an unknown, but sir alex over the yrs have bought players that are unheard of and he maximized their potential. I think johnson has lots of potential.

You think Johnston has potential? You are either stupid, extremely stupid, or have no footballing brain whatsoever. A.J is not a clinical Striker, nor a predator. He's a middle rate striker who WILL NEVER PLAY FOR UNITED. Jesus christ out of all the strikers in the world you pick Andy Johnston to come to United!!!
