So I hear that Tim Duncan is still the best big man in the NBA, he's just injured, he just plays less minutes. Isnt that usually a sign that a player is past their prime? If not we'd be seeing Gary payton going for triple doubles every night and Shaq putting up 30/12. espically now, When you have Bonzi Wells dropping 25/15 on you, you know your defense is terrible. And ever heard of boxing out? No SG should average over 10 boards in the paint with a ''dominant'' big man around. Along with shooting a lower % then he ever has, and playing very streaky, can we still call this guy better then KG or even Elton Brand?
Here we go again. He's 29 years old and the team has him play less minutes because they want him to be fresh and not wear him out. He plays an extra 20 games every year in the playoffs and it adds up. Sure he's had injuries it happens, he's still one of the games best bigmen when healthy. The team has the players to come in and give him a little time. He's hardly out of his prime and his FG% dipped a little bit, so what, it's still high.
He's 29 years old coming off a major injury, Antonio Mycdyess,Alonzo Mourning, and Grant Hill were all on top of their games before a knee injury, the Duncan you see now is the Duncan that he is. If anything with lesser minutes he would be more efficent, because it means less shot attempts, but instead of just looking at career stats, watch how he's played all this season and most of the end of last season, this is a completely different player.
Most people dont really know this but that injury that Duncan has really injures your play. It slows you down the whole year and there is really nothing you can do about it. Also, Tony Parker has been getting the ball most of the time. His team is the #2 team in the League, you know he will bounce back right now (Playoff time) and also next season when his injury is gone.
When you injury your knee like he did, You dont just pop back. He'll still be decent, but he's a shell of himself, like Grant Hill,Mcydess, and Zo are like I said.
Tim Duncan will be fine, in his last game he had 31/13/4/1/2, you just like to rip Duncan whenever you get a chance.

Meaning that the injury is not a career nagging one. I bet he will get over it by next season.
He's averaging 20/10 in the playoffs, right around his career numbers, PrimeTime always rips Duncan because he's a boob.

You dont decline in your late 20s, and pop back in your mid 30s. Your misunderstanding me, This isnt career ending, but Duncan is only half the player he was, and not the best big man anymore, espically on defense. His defense this year was terrible, Their post game dominated night in and night out. Really Duncan is no longer the best player on his team, but I will admit he's still the most valuable. Without his double teams, Parker and Ginobli wouldnt be penetrating nearly as much as they do. But his talent level just isnt where it was. Still solid, but shouldnt even be an allstar, much less starting for the allstar team. 19/9 isnt nothing amazing, and he's only getting older.

That's not that many. The Spurs won 63 games and won the division, your making way too big of a deal out of this.
Half the player he was? What? I guess he posted 40 ppg and 24 ppg some other year did he?lol on a serious note, Duncan is really not an issue. The Spurs are playing fine and Duncan had another great year WITH an injury. Like I said, the injury cant be very serious or else he would have missed some time. He will be fine by next year.

Duncan was in his prime in 2002. He still is great but I wouldn't say dominant. Parker and Ginobili have both gotten better and the spurs have a great trio and even Bowen is having a great year and he's 35?

^I would say that Manu had a better year last year than this year. He only played 65 games this year and he averaged 1 more ppg last year. I dont know how he got any better
tim duncan aka boringest player in the nba. i can't watch the spurs because of him. great player, just can't stand watching him play.
