With a dissapointing start to the second half, it looks like we will get a 1-5 draft pick, excluding number 4, which goes to Charlotte...who to draft? Shaun Livingston is the one that NBADRAFT.net has us taking this year These people should be available: Shaun Livingston Luol Deng Ben Gorden Jameer Nelson and others I heard Shaun Livingston is like Kwame Brown but more raw, Luol Deng is being called this year's Carmelo Anthony, Ben Gorden can shoot, Jameer Nelson is a scorer which we could use.

Anyways, I would take a good look at Deng and Josh Smith...A young swing man would benefit this team a lot...Stack is getting a bit older, and Hughes is never going to be a great player...If they select Smith, they can start Stack and Hughes for at least one more season....Hayes may be able to step in during that time along with Smith/Deng....However, it will be interesting to see if the Wizards are weary of drafting another Highschool player after the whole Kwame debacle....but Deng has some college experience (but I don't think he's going to declare to be honest wit u) Conventional wisdom says the Wiz should select a big man...but unless they get a top 3 pick, there really isn't a big man worth taking too much...If Pavel slides, I still wouldn't select him if I were the Wiz because they have had enough trouble developing Kwame, last thing they need is another raw player...
Livingston is going to Duke next year. Deng will stay one more year. I think the Wiz will end up with Nelson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the Wiz will end up with Nelson.</div> well, Nelson is a bit of a stretch for a top 5 pick...Besides, they just signed Arenas to a long term deal to be their point....I just don't see them turning around and drafting Nelson too? Especially with Blake as a solid backup...
Taking Okafur would be a great pick for the Wizards. There wont be many high schoolers in the draft this year. i dont know much about the foreigners this year but maybe one of them will be a good fit.
If they can get Okafor then there setput him at pf and kwame at c and they'll be tiwin towers, it will be crazy.
i hope that he is at the top of the wizards list. haywood just isnt that good of a center. okafur would be solid there.

ugh , all of the sudden all teams think they will end up getting a top 5 pick and getting Okafor lol Orlando , Chicago and Atlanta could use Okafor very well and they will probably get a top 3 draft pick Phoenix might get 5. I'll take Gordon , just my choice he has nice defense and can score.
Unless you get the #1 pick, forget Okafor... so it would be probably be advised not to include him in your plans at the moment. When you look at the needs of the Wizards, it's pretty tough to figure out what position to draft at... PG is covered by Arenas (long-term), Blake, Knight; SG by Hughes, Stackhouse, Dixon; SF by Stackhouse, Hayes, Jeffries; PF by Brown, Jeffries, Laettner; C by Haywood, Thomas. It's pretty clear the Wizards have a lot of young talent, particularly on perimeter. For me, a selection of a 1, 2 or 3 would be a waste of selection. Nelson would be tempting, but he's not going to start over Arenas at any point, you would think. So I think the Wizards should go for most the talented 4 or 5 at their spot. That may be someone like Dwight Howard, Pavel Podkozline, Andris Biedrins, Kosta Perovic, Kris Humphries and maybe Hakim Warrick. I like Humphries of that bunch, a bit of muscle inside for Washington.
I thought I would resurrect this thread because it looks like we are tanking the rest of the year.. Here are our options: PG Jameer Nelson- He is a scorer, we could use a scorer, problem is he is a PG, we have Gilbert Arenas, who can play the 2 guard, but where would we put Larry Hughes...he can penetrate and dish, or penetrate and score. He uses a lot of Stutter steps and pump fakes, that can be good and bad. He lacks the size to be an strong defender. His height can also hurt him because he is smaller than most people out on the court, but for his height his court vision is pretty good. SF Josh Smith- Josh Smith has committed to Indiana but is expected to go pro, he is amazingly athletic with a sweet stroke from deep, he has also managed to use utilize his ability to jump on defense. He is a good rebounder, he gets good position all the time, when he goes to the hoop he is nearly unstoppable. His weaknesses are he is pretty raw, but has all the skills to make it, sometimes has troubles creating his own shot, he is pretty lazy on defense if he cant block your shot, and consistency...he has been kind of inconsistent throughout times. PF Andris Biedrins- He is another Darko Milicic, similar size and skill..I do not want to draft him, He is very young, and playing 30 year olds over in Europe..He gets most of his points from posting up his defenders, last year he finished second in his league in shot-blocking, last year he only averaged 3.3 points per game, but now is averaging 19.5 this year. He is not as versatile as Darko and does not have the ball handling skill that Darko has, right now this is what NBADraft.net has us picking, I do not want this pick. Other options are: Ben Gordon Hakim Warrick-he has developed a Jumper, we could use a big SF who can post up people. Emeka Okafor-Long Shot Dwight Howard-Long Shot I got all the info from Here and Here
Well i dont think washington will take a guard because they already have Arenas and Juan. I also doubt that they will take another High Schooler after having Kwame. Just for your information Josh Smith will be going to college. My friend is at Oak Hill and he came home this weekend for springbreak and he said that he talks to Josh all the time and he says Josh is going to go to college. I think Ben Gordon would fit in nicely with the Wizards roster.

I disagree, Haywood has added a niec array of offensive moves to his aresenal, He isnt a backup..we need a SF, maybe we could draft Hakim Warrick or trade for one

No doubt Kwame will be a great player the Wiz just cant take 3 more years to devolp a high schooler
I think that the Wiz should trade Kwame and build around Arenas, Hughes, Jeffries and Hayes, and pick up a veteran pf to guide the young guys. I know that Kwame will develop, but I don't think that he's going to reach his full potential with the Wizards, so they ought to get what they can in exchange of him.
