Well my friends/family league is about to take draft in about a week or so and i have the 1st pick in the draft.. this never happens so i am never faced with this choice.

Who should I take??? I mean Larry Johnson was gaudy last season when he played.. but with willie retired, will sheilds hurt, and Richardson now in Minnesota.. is he Worth the top pick??? top 3 yes but top??

Shaun alexander.. Seattle has a good Offense a good defense and we all know Shaun is the man at the stripe.. there really isn't alot of downside to Shaun except he is on the cover of madden.. Yes the curse, happened to Eddie George 2001, Daunte Culpepper 2002, Mike Vick 2003, Ray Lewis 2004, Donavann Mcnabb 2005 all of them got hurt and missed time.. so history has shown that the curse is real.. not to mention i don't see 27 TD in his future but plays in a weak division

Ladanian Tomlinson.. New QB but other then that not alot of change here in SD.. and LT has proven to be a solid Performer no matter who he faces and who is under center.. only real question is can Philip Be good enough so LT can see his carries???

It looks like your no.1 pick will be on a rb..if it is i would go with ladian tomlinson..but if u want a qb you should go with tom brady.

Its Def a RB and Peyton would be my top pick for a QB.. BTW Brady is a late 2nd or 3rd round choice at Best

Go with Alexander. The new offense in KC is looking pretty pathetic and there doesn't seem to be any progress in getting Willie Roaf to un-retire. Tomlinson is awesome, but he's only going to do as well as Rivers does.

Alexander is the safest of the three.

I was high on LJ, but now with all the concerns that KC has on the OL I would take Alexander #1.

Here is my take on the Big Three.

    1. Larry Johnson (Chiefs) - Johnson might have the biggest upside, but he isn't as established as Tomlinson or Alexander. My concern is that last year might have been a one year flash. You do have to take into consideration the termoil surronding the Chiefs' OL. Will Roaf stay retired or is he just using this as a cover to get out of training camp and save his old body extra punishment? I guess we won't know for a week or two. That doesn't help.

    2. Shaun Alexander (Seahawks) - Alexander is established and produces, but who isn't afraid of the Madden Curse? Be honest! The Madden Curse is a legit fear even for those of us who don't like to acknowledge curses. How do you argue with history? Without the Madden Curse, I think Shaun is the best choice for an overall number 1 pick.

    3. LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers) - My biggest concern with L.T. is the departure of Drew Brees. I'm afraid that Phillip Rivers might be a bust and then you will see defenses focusing on L.T. On the other hand, L.T. can catch and might prove to be the safety valve when Rivers drops back to pass.

I guess your just going to have to go with your gut feeling. I know I will be watching each back closely and trying to gleen any useful information all the way up to each draft.

LT! He is a proven back who can catch and has some moves in the open field. Able to elude defenders and have the speed/burst to take it home. Big upside with Rivers at helm, looking forward to run the ball more (estimated over 400 carries). And didn't lose any key blockers like Larry Johnson. Doesn't have the Cover Jinx, Shaun Alexander.

I think the fact that the only con given thus far on Alexander is a silly jinx tells you all you need to know. [IMG]

I would go with L.T. he is going to have a huge year because as stated before Rivers will go to him alot on short passes. I think both L.J and Shaun Alexander will have a solid year but L.T is not only going to get alot of carries but he will get alot of catches as well, and as everyone knows he is capable of taking it to the house everytime he gets his hands on the ball, and that includes passing it ...Maybe he will be starting at QB by mid season [IMG]

I think L.T. is the best pick point wise. He scores TD's every way, he throws, runs, catches. Those stats Alexander cant give you
