    Odom, Bynum + filler for?

After hearing some people saying they wouldn't trade Bynum and/or Odom for Garnett (which I would do in a heartbeat), I felt compelled to ask who you guys would even consider trading them for. Thsi isn't a "trade idea" thread, but merely an indicator as to how valuable you guys think these two are or who (GMs) might bite.

So i guess I have to ask, if someone, say Dwight Howard were offered, would Laker Fans accept trading him for Odom, Bymnum + 1st round pick? (of course there are Cap situations and fillers if need be)

Who else would you guys consider trading those two for since some people say they're "untouchable"?

    One.

Wow. Which Laker fans wouldn't trade Odom and Bynum for KG? What are they smoking. D-Howard...come on he's way out of the question (along with KG).

    Andrew Bynum + Odom for:
    Joe Johnson (steal)
Richard Jefferson + Marcus Williams + 1st rounder
    Chauncey Billups + 1st rounder
    Allen Iverson
Stephen Marbury, Channing Frye +1st rounder

Those trades look fair for both sides. Homers for each of those trades might not agree.

none of those trades would make any sense for the Lakers. We'd be giving up both of our starting big man positions for guards... except for Frye, who is still soft inside. We'd be left with Kwame and Turiaf or Cook as our starters.. If the Lakers made any of those trades, they won't make the playoffs.. even with the 9-4 start.

regardless of who we get for bynum and odom, i've grown attached to them as lakers and want to see them as lakers for life, just to see how much bynum can grow within the laker's system and also to see odom finally have a team he can belong to after all that he dealt with this summer. i know it's not based on any pure winning standpoint, but i just like bynum and odom too much to see them go, even if it brings someone as awesome as kg or dwight howard or whoever. call me a sap i guess.

Odom has been playing great so far this season, and has really improved. The guy can score, pass, and rebound. Kevin Garnett is on the decline, and with the amount of improvement I am seeing from Lamar, he can easily be a top player in the league. Plus, with the way this team has been playing, I would not want to disrupt our team's chemistry. Andrew Bynum has really impressed me this season. The guy is only 18 years old and has been playing terrifically thus far into the season. He has tons of potential and is a hard worker. You put that all together and add the fact that he is being trained by NBA great KAJ, there is no telling what type of player he will be. Odom and Bynum for KG? Last season, in a heartbeat. This season? No thanks, I'll pass

    Andrew Bynum + Odom for:
Joe Johnson (steal) - Joe Johnson and Kobe Bryant on the same team? No thanks. I don't know what you are talking about with "steal"
Richard Jefferson + Marcus Williams + 1st rounder - NO
    Chauncey Billups + 1st rounder - NO
Allen Iverson - Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant? Seems interesting, but the two would definetly not co-exist
Stephen Marbury, Channing Frye +1st rounder - [IMG]

There's no way I'd pull the trigger on trading them right now. They're each playing great and Odom has finally shown some consistency this year. With Bynum, he's shown flashes of brilliance and has shown he can play in this league. Did I mention the kid is only 19yrs old? He's only going to get better and better the more he sees the court. I don't want to see either of them leaving anytime soon. We're playing well, and each of them have played a substantial role in that, so there's no way I want to see either of them leaving.

I'm not even sure about Wade or 'Bron. While I'd love either of them, we'd lose valuable big man depth, something we can't do.

I'm as big of an Odom and Bynum fan there is out there, but if someone offered me Lebron James for those two, I wouldn't even hesitate a second to pull the trigger

Yea, I understand some big man depth is lost. However having Kobe and Wade you could make sure there is never a minute where either one is off the floor. When Kobe is tired, a second player with the ability to create his own shot would make the Lakers even better.

Lebron could play PF if the Lakers needed him to. Lebron would be a big upgrade imo.

I'm honestly starting to wonder if you guys no who the hell Kevin Garnett is. You are not going to get a perennial all star for a former first overall pick who has done nothing to show he will ever be anything but a role player, a below average point guard in Smush Parker (Minnesota also already has James and Foye at the PG), and an average role player in Cook. Who are you kidding?

    oh my god

arguably top 5 PF of all time for an inconsistent semistar and an unproven kid

you'd have to be either 12 years old or mentally ill to turn down KG for that..

"I doubt D.Howard would come after he got posterized by Kobe"

They said the same thing about T.O. coming to Dallas.

Id love to get rid of Brian Cook he's a good player but he doesnt seem happy here and he's not a good fit I didnt see him play one minute in the Utah loss and this year he seems like he has a chip on his shoulder and is lazy. He complains on calls too much after missing a shot and lets his man run on the other end and score I cant stand the guy. Odom is another of those solid-do-it-all players that doesnt seem to mesh well with this Lakers team. If we can package those two and get some size and talent in exchange Id be very happy this christmas.

    Odom+Cook for:

    Ben Wallace+Luol Deng
    Nazr Mohammed+Tayshaun Prince
    KG
    Zach Randolph+Darius Miles
    Nachbar+Richard Jefferson
