i know this topic comes up at the end of every season, but who's up for a breakout season next year? rashard lewis: this has been coming for a couple of years, but it took trading payton for shard to break out of his shell. hasn't scratched the surface of what he's capable of kenyon martin: it was the kenyon show in NJ after the allstar break. puts up some nice numbers, but he should be a legit 20 and 10 man next year. is a monster in the playoffs others: chauncey billups (finally), jamaal magloire, rodney white, dez mason
i agree with all of yours, i also think that if mason gets injured or struggles, then micheal redd will have a breakout season, i also think that drew gooden will have a elton brand type year next year.
Tayshaun Prince - Prince didn't play in half of the Piston's games this season due to a coaches decision, but by the way he is playing in the playoffs, he could be seeing a lot more time next season. Mateen Cleaves - I think that the greatest improvement will be made here. Mateen was drafted near the lottery in 2000 and he hasn't had many chances since. He could have shined on the Piston's but after a bad rookie year he was traded to the Sacramento Kings who already had four point gaurds. He was backing up Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson. This offseason he becomes a free agent. Assuming that he signs with a team that gives him a backup or starting roll, he should do great. In my opinion, all he needs is an opportunity to show what he is made of. Sort of like my next pick, Zach Randolph. Zach Randolph - Zach came on really strong towards the end of the season with a thirty point and twenty rebound game against Memphis. Mo Cheeks has even given him Dale Davis' starting spot many times this season. It is rumored that the Blazers will either trade Randolph to some team where he can get major minutes, or bench/trade someone in his way of starting like Rasheed Wallace or Dale Davis. I know many avid Blazer fans, and they assure me that most of them would like to see Z-Bo, as they call Randolph, starting over Rasheed Wallace. I have to think of some others later, but that is all that I could think of now.
Desmond Mason - Soon to have a breakout year. Probably this year. Last year he had to play behind both Brent Barry and Rashard Lewis. Vince Carter - Hasnt played much to he should come back to his old self. LeBron - So much hype its bound to happen Carmelo

Vince Carter has already had a breakout season, so as far as I am concerned he is broken in. He was an All-Star last season whether we like it or not. Can rookies have "breakout" seasons?
^ Why couldnt they have a break out season? VC, MJ, Pau Gasol, Elton, Tim Duncvan had break out seasons. Desmond Mason plays SG/SF so he wa splaying behind Lewis aswell.
I didn?t count rookies from this season bcos I think to have a ?breakout? season u need to have played at least 2 seasons, otherwise it can be put down to rookie nerves or whatever (otherwise I would?ve had hilario, jay williams, prince and wagner) I forgot to put zach randolph too, he is gonna be big next year
the big 3 from 01/02, kwame brown, eddy curry and tyson chandler too - brown has talent to burn, he just needs someone less demanding than jordan to get it out of him. fragile personality or whatever...
Kenyon Martin won't have a brekout season. Especially if Kidd leaves hell take a HUGE step backward. Dont expect any all star aspirations from Kenyon. Look for Jermaine Oneal to become a dominant scorer if he can stay focused the whole game every game. I think Hilario will become a force for the Nuggets and any one or few of the Warriors young guns could explode especially if they sign Jason Kidd. Also look for breakout years from Kwame Brown, Kedrick Brown, Yao Ming (maybe), Zach Randolph, and Desmond Mason
I think these players will have breakout seasons: Yao: He can work on so much during the offseason to get more minutes...he should try and keep his wind up and lift a little bit to put some more weight on that 235 pound figure....he may weigh more if he does don't bash me.... Amare: ROY...what more can I say? He did a lot for the Suns and will work off that during the offseason to get better... TROY HUDSON: This guy is my favorite PG....he did a lot for the T'Wolves this year and finally got noticed in the playoffs....He will work hard with KG to become the new era Stockton/Malone duo.... Desmond Mason: Working with his new team in the offseason will make him the dominant player he was on the Sonics...although the Bucks are a bit old working next to Tim Thomas will help a lot....I'm not sayin Tim Thomas is old either...... Mikeal Pietris(I know...i didn't spell it right): Judging from his description this guy will be a dominant shooting guard with the likes of Kobe and T-Mac...he looks like a great player.... Lee Nailon: He either played for the Hawks/Knicks i can't remember which but i do remember that he was a force to be recond with...RECOND MAY NOT BE SPELLED RIGHT....He did great this past season and he will be a FA come offseason.... Radoslav Nesterovic: This guy is awesome...playing next to KG made him look average but if he doesn't sign with Minny this offseason....he will be awesome on another team....
i think troy hudson will come back down to Earth. Ive nevcer been imrpessed with rasho either. Mason and Amare will be a force thouh
i highly doubt troy hudson will come back down...i think he will build off his playoff performance....
Desmond Mason Andrei Kirilenko if Malone leaves Corey Maggette Darius Miles if he gets healthy Tyson Chandler & Eddie Curry combo Ginobili
curry will be the most dominant centre not named shaq, in terms of brute force - good luck stopping yao tho when he develops further i think it could also be chauncey billups' year, he's shown what he's capable of in the playoffs and next season is when he should be able to put it all together
