Ok. Mike and Bron BOTH avg 20 ppg, 5 apg, 5 rpg during their FIRST year in the Association. Pretty Remarkable for a rookie. My question is.. who is (or was) A BETTER ROOKIE? I dont remember whether or not CHICAGO BULLS at that time was contending for a playoff spot but what do you think? Who had a better ROOKIE season? Michael or Lebron?
Mike averaged 28 a game in his rookie season, this should not even be a disussion. Lebron has had a very good rookie year but nothing compared to MJ's.
Michael's stats were more better than lebron's on both end as he had probably the top 2 rookie season performances ever. He averaged 28.2 ppg, 2.39 spg, 6.5 rpg, 5.9 apg and so on. Lebrons at 21 5 and 6 right now, so mj defintely takes it.
There is no comparison. MJ had the better numbers, but he also had 2 years of college basketball under his belt. It's like apples and oranges. I still like LeBron's upside though. He's pretty good.
I hate these debates between players of different ages and experience playing 20 years apart. Jordans numbers were of coarse better, so i guess we'll have to put up with what Lebron can do for the next few years.
MJ was a better scorer in his rookie year,as a matter of fact he would be leading the leauge in scoring this season in his rookie year.
The style of basketball was played differently. How would LeBron do during MJ's rookie season? Vice versa?
If you watch clips of Mike's rookie season, its no question, even without looking at the stats. Mike dominated games as a rook, at both ends of the floor, whereas LBJ is streaky, though brilliant. I think Mike would be the better rookie whether both were rookies the both season or not, and whether they were in 1985 or 2004. And besides the numbers, Mike had his team in the playoffs and made some noise against the Central Division champion Bucks. He was also all-NBA second team and ranked in the top four in the league in both scoring and steals. And he became the first rookie in history to lead his team in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals in the same season. I think this discussion is over.

^um LeBron is getting 21ppg 6 assists and 5 rebounds much better than Melo what are you talking about
