SO far the lineup goes like this. This is my prediction. PG-Stephon Marbury, Nate Robinson, Penny, Crawford SG-Crawford, Marbury, Penny, Nate Robinson SF-Q-rich, David Lee PF-?, Rose, Taylor, Frye C- Curry, James, Frye, Sundov, Butler Whose the starting PF?
Antonio Davis. If the Knicks keep him which at this point is a 50/50 because there are conflicting reports, some say he's gonna get waived and re-sign with Chicago some say the Knicks are going to keep him. I think the Knicks should keep him. Mo Taylor and Malik arent bad but Antonio is a upgrade over them both IMO even this far into his career, and having a locker room presence like him isnt bad either.
Yeahhh!!! We should keep Antonio Davis he's a player who's not afraid of hard contact and he can bang up with big center's like Shaq or other hard Centers around the league!!!!
I want Antonio Davis to be the starting PF. He's a strong defensive center who can rebound and make up for Curry's rebounding production. He can also hit the midrange jumper, too. Even though he's 37-years-old, he still put up 7/6 not to mention some of his intangibles.
Antonio Davis has to be considered the favorite to start if the Knicks end up keeping him. If they do waive him, watch out for David Lee winning the starting job. Larry Brown is very high on Lee, and 6-9 he's adequate height to play PF in the NBA. What Brown likes about Lee is his hustle and high basketball IQ.

I would take Malik or Mo over Lee anyday knowing they've played the position in the past. Lee isnt that massive to guard those big PF's in the east. He would get torn apart.

Lee is the same height as Antonio Davis and Mo Taylor at 6'9. He's taller than Malik Rose who's only 6'7. Lee weighed 249lbs heading into the draft, which is heavier than Antonio Davis (245) and Malik Rose (245). I'm sure he's added a good 5 to 7 lbs since the draft. He might not be as strong and savvy, but he should be able to hold his own against the PFs in the East. Lee is also very athletic for his size and a good leaper.
What I meant was he's not as Bulky as the other PF's. Davis is a better fit at PF then Lee is due to experience and knowledge of the PF position in the NBA.

If not, I think Lee has just a good a shot as anyone else on the roster.
Antonio Davis if he still has stamina has to be the favourite. He is quite physical and can bang with average centers on defense, and can certainly handle PFs physically. He also has an ok jumpshot, he took it a bit too much in his later years in Toronto.
It looks like the Knicks will buy out Davis afterall so someone else will have to start at powerforward. The Knicks need someone who can cover up for Curry's weak rebounding. So it's most likely going to be Malik Rose. By the way since David Lee is like the third string powerforward and wont be seeing much action why didnt Isiah just give him up instead of Sweetney? Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
Knicks are all offense.. Q rich, Marbury, Curry, Crawford will all fight for the ball. They need a good PF that can defend. Get rebounds and not care about the ball.
Now that it looks like that the Knicks are not going to keep Davis, I think they should start Mo Taylor or Malik Rose. Prefferrably, Malik Rose though. Malik hustles much more, and is a hustle-type player. Rose is IMO the most underrated player in the league. I like him when he was in San Antonio and I still like him when he's in New York.
I'm not sure of Malik. He's only 6'7 and I dont think he can compete 35 minutes with the atlantics PF's like Bosh, C-Webb, etc. I think Mo Taylor can take the job considering he's 6'9. Although he's been lazy at defense, I think its through his head to play D and get boards. Im shocked of Davis wanting to leave but his mom is in Chi-town so thats respectable. Its going 2 be a hard fight in training for the PF spot.
Malik Rose is the not the same player from 3 years, you don't watch the NBA if you don't think so. He has no offensive game, he's very slow, and is too undersized and slow to be the defender he once was. Rose is accually right now, one of the most overpaid players in the NBA. Who the hell gave him that contract anyways.
i thought marbury was gunna play sg, anyways if they dont keep davis why not start james or curry @ pf. with marbury @ the 2 robinson marbury q curry james with marbury at the 1 marbury crawford q curry james
If Davis is dropped as part of the Curry trade, wouldn't it make sense for the Knicks to start Jerome James at power forward and Eddy Curry at the center? James is more of a Larry Brown type player then Curry is because James does the dirty work. He grabs rebounds and can play good interior defense. It just makes sense to have both him and Curry on the floor at the same time since their games are almost opposites.

All he really does well is play good on ball defense. The problem with starting them both is that Jerome James is extremely foul prone. So James' minutes will be severely limited. Also James and Curry are both mediocre to poor rebounders so unless the Knicks want to get slaughtered on the boards every night they'll start Malik Rose. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
LB said he prefers his PF to be a shooter who can drop the 10 or 15 footer. Kind of like a Kurt Thomas style play. Except expect curry to be down low instead of outside looking for a jumper. I think starting JJ at center and Curry at the PF could be a possibility. That would be a big front court, hopefully JJ isnt going 2 be foul prone and a unexperienced Frye would have to play alot of minutes.
