Speaking of keeping track of things, why is WA taking so long? It seems like the vote count has been stuck on 50% since last night. Is it all due to mail in votes?
You know, a buddy of mine is running for office in WA and he's in a close battle. I've been watching for updates there too. The Secretary of State's webiste hasn't updated the tally since 11:30 pm last night. If I remember from the close gov race a few years ago, they release counts in batches. I'd think we'd be getting an updated count soon. Also, ballots in WA are good if they are stamped by the post office on election day (they don't have to be received by election day like in Oregon.) So, WA is always going to lag a bit.
Good to know. I'm keeping an eye on R74. I've seen projections that it'll pass, but nothing as concrete/official as what they're projecting for the pot initiative. I think in CA they had to receive it by yesterday. We got ours mailed last Friday.
Seems like as far as electoral votes go, it was never close. Media played it up like it would be Gore/Bush then come election day all the pundits say Mitt has to win almost every swing state to have a chance to win. We all tuned in, so they got what they wanted.
Yes, it was "STORM WATCH 2012!!!" sort of coverage. When they wouldn't even call Mississippi for Romney after the polls there closed, it was clear they'd decided that the game was no longer 'who can predict first' but instead 'who can drag it out the longest'. barfo
