Why aren't any of our preseason games televised?

This strike anyone else as odd? I can't remember the last time none of our preseason games were on TV.

Not viable how? Not financially viable?

Fuck, if the Kings can broadcast a home preseason game to their local affiliate, how can the Blazers not televise one? It's like we're in the dark ages again.

The only televised pre-season Blazer game last year was a Kings' broadcast from Portland.

The highlights on NBA.com of our game in Sacramento were from the Kings broadcast.

Hmm ... I don't remember that one. I must have been out of town. What has changed in the past year that would make it too costly to put on a pre-season game?

This is getting out of hand! THE KINGS DID NOT BROADCAST THE GAME THE OTHER NIGHT!!!!!!!!!! It was the "in house" feed for the big screen! Last season the only game covered was the Golden State game. As to why none of the pre season games are being shown, I don't know.

So why not put out the feed for the big screen? I'd certainly rather watch that than nothing. Or is that technically not possible?

It's viable to show the fanfest, but not preseason games? They had 17k people show up for a scrimmage, they don't think the preseason is relevant?

How many threads are we going to have about this?

My guess is that advertisers arent willing to pay for pre-season games so they cant off set the cost of producing/broadcasting a game her locally. I'm sure if it was a viable option, the Trail Blazers would love to broadcast the pre-season games, especially the away games when attendance/ticket revenue isnt a factor.

The fanfest was a CSN production/broadcast, not Blazer broadcasting.

I figure we'll keep having threads until we can convince HCP to go ask on our behalf, and he reports back.

In defense of the Blazers, the FanFest was covered by Comcast not Blazer Broadcasting.

Fine, I'm sure we wouldn't mind if CSN televised the preseason games.

I heard on Wheels @ Work (I think) that KGW/NBC arent jumping at the chance to broadcast the pre-season games because right now they have all their new/start of new season prime time shows on. Although KGW did do the one and only game last year.

Just a guess, but maybe the Trail Blazers told CSN they cant broadcast any of the pre-season games due to them not having a deal with the Dish's.
