Tonight, the NFL spoils its sports betting audience, as there will be two Monday Night Football games. In the early game, the AFC East will be on full display, as the New England Patriots take on the Miami Dolphins. Then in the later game, the more enticing game for NFL betting lines enthusiasts gets underway, as the Oakland Raiders travel to the Mile High City, to take on the Denver Broncos. Today, we will be looking at why the Broncos vs. Raiders game is one you should stay awake for.

For most experienced fishing games players, the New England Patriots verses Miami Dolphins game has more star power then the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders games. However, whether you are new to the NFL or more experienced, chances are you already know that the Patriots are expected to blow out the Dolphins in week one, before once again cruising to an AFC East division title.

On the other hand, the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders are two of the youngest teams in the league. As such, this can only mean two things; firstly, optimism surrounds both teams, as they are essentially different teams from last year. Secondly, there are several players on both Denver and Oakland, who are expected to breakout during the 2011 season, thus making the game more enticing then a Patriots blowout.

Coming out of the offseason, both Denver and Oakland underwent many changes on a personnel front, after terrible and mediocre seasons respectively. Denver Broncos new Head Coach John Fox, was brought in to help recreate a defense that gave up a league high 471 yards in 2010, en route to the team’s worst finish, a four and 12 season. On the other hand, former Cincinnati Bengals coordinator Hue Jackson takes over for Tom Cable in Oakland, despite the Raiders going eight and eight last season and six and zero against their division.

Theoretically, the coaching staff changes alone should help both clubs avoid the smackdown in 2011. Another interesting issue to note for both the Broncos and Raiders is that despite rumors to the contrary, both starting quarterbacks from a year ago will once again be starting on opening night. In Denver, Kyle Orton leads a new look youthful offense, after throwing for over 3,683 yards with 20 touchdowns in 2010. The addition of Willis McGahee to partner up with Knowshon Moreno should allow the Broncos offense to be more balanced this year. At the same time, the addition, of first round pick Von Miller, should provide instant corrections to the Broncos defense.

In Oakland, Jason Campbell enters his second season behind center, with a balanced aerial attack, to compliment a stingy Raiders defense. The x-factor for the Raiders will be the play of running back Darren McFadden. Last season, McFadden finally lived up to his billing as a premier running option in the NFL. If he can repeat it, the Raiders, who haven’t won a Monday Night game since 2006, when they beat the Broncos, will be able to turn the corner and become more successful.
