The Orlando Magic have had many moments where fans have said the phrase, "Why did we do that?" In this thread, I will go over several of these moments and show the effect they had on our team.

First of all, the Magic have lost so many talented players it's not even funny. Ben Wallace, Corey Maggette, Chauncy Billups, Chris Webber, Shaq and Tracy McGrady are all players the Magic have lost either by trades or free agency. In that bunch you have last years Finals MVP, this years DPLOY, 4 All-Stars, and a former MVP in Shaq. After all of these losses, the Magic front office had fans saying, "Why did we do that?"

Next, the Magic fired coaches Doc Rivers last year leaving us with interim coach Jonny Davis. He did fine and had the Magic making a push for the playoffs until he was fired late into the season just when the Magic were fighting for the 8th seed in the East. Why on earth did we fire our coach when he had us fighting for a playoff seed just after having the worst record in the NBA last year? Yet another one of those "why" moments.

Two seasons ago against the Pistons in the playoffs, the Magic were leading the series 3-1 going into Game 5 where they could move onto the next round with a win. Everything looks just fine until Tracy McGrady tells reporters, "It's good to be into the second round". This motivated the Pistons to come from behind and win the series in Game 7. Way to go McGrady. Why did YOU do that?

Hopefully the Magic will start to have less and less of these moments and keep us Magic fans happy. But you gotta admit, Billups, McGrady, Maggette, Big Ben and Shaq sounds pretty nice now doesn't it?

Why did we trade Cuttino? I mean I haven't seen a game that Doug has produced in the level that Mobley did as a Magic. I though Christie was a man of defense, in the games I've watched him that's the last thing I saw from him.

Why did the Magic trade the following: Kieth Bogans,Drew Gooden,Zaza. Why Did Deshawn Stevenson feel the need to step up now instead of last year when he was given his opportunity to shine?

Yeah Keith Bogans is going to be a good PG in a couple of years if he gets the playing time in Charlotte. He played well as a rookie and I don't understand why the Magic traded him for that piece of garbage Brandon Hunter. Also Drew Gooden is another loss that could have been avoided along with Pachulia who alsways gave his effort and was a good rebounder. Man the Magic have made some dumb moves.

    Yep, I have a lot.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">First of all, the Magic have lost so many talented players it's not even funny. Yep. Well Shaq we didn't have a choice, we gave him loads of money and he just went to LA. Ben Wallace was a huge mistake, but we did the right thing in that trade. Anyone in their right mind woulda gotten Grant Hill for Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins. In the years that we had Penny, he was better than Webber anyway and I don't think anyone was disappointed we traded Penny. Tmac was very bad as you all know, but the Maggette trade probably pissed me off the most, we got cash for him.

Johnny Davis was a horrible coach. Honestly if Chris Jent coached the whole season we woulda been in the playoffs. Johnny Davis did so many questionable moves in the rotation and his defensive and offensive strategy sucked. He couldn't keep the players happy and it looked like most of the time he had no idea what he was doing. Jent was just plagued with injury problems the rest of the year and had to make do with a bench of Andre Barrett and the Mike Jones. Davis shoulda been fired at the beginning of the year. I'm glad he's gone.

A young superstar feeling round 2, he made a mistake. He was on top of the world after Game 4. I do blame him though.

Yep, but every team goes through some of the same stuff in their past.

Yes, the trade was horrible for us player wise, but believe it or not, there was plenty of benefits that happens by sacrificing 1 year of playoffs.

1)Dwight gets more touches and more time to develop.
2)Jameer and Deshawn Stevenson emerged into our future.
    3)Johnny Davis got fired
4)We have a chance to get the #1 pick.

Stevenson had chances last year, but we got him later in the year when our season was basically over, he's not the type of player that will carry a bad team to become a good team. This year he wasn't given the chance until Jent took over and we saw what he could do.
