The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that the team has signed restricted free agent guard Kelenna Azubuike to an offer sheet to a multi-year agreement. Azubuike is currently a restricted free agent who has played the last two seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Under the rules of the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, once a restricted free agent is signed to an offer sheet, his current team has seven days to match the offer once it receives a copy of the original offer sheet. In this case, the proper documentation has been forwarded today via overnight carrier to the Warriors, and is scheduled to be received on Friday, July 18.

In the last two seasons with the Warriors, the 24-year old Azubuike averaged 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 122 games. The former University of Kentucky standout appeared in 81 contests last season for Golden State.

    Lets review

The Nets added Najera at 3.4 million for this season out of the MLE

The Clippers offered Azubuike a contract starting at more than the MLE - 3.4 million

Additionally, after the Nets added Jarvis Hayes for less than Azubuike wants, why would the Nets also go after Azubuike?

    Reason
    1、Nets not have enough money。

    2、Nets is a team not a all-star team。

3、you should asked Nets GM 。

    Again, lets review.

Azubuike and Hayes play the same position and Hayes is 1) cheaper and 2) willing to play for a 2 year contract

Najera is a good locker room guy veteran whose hustle and hard work is needed to show all of the young bigs how to play the game the right way.

What point is there for the Nets in trying to add Azubuike for more than 2 years?

You could post some reasons why you think Azubuike would have been a better target than Najera and Hayes other than just his stats.

Anyway, there's a lot of sharp people on this board so if you post, be prepared to back up what you say!
