This is going to help me out with some homework. List a few reasons why you like the NFL, or why you think it's so popular.

There's something about football that is unlike any sport. It's fun to watch and play, every ASPECT of it. Catching, running, passing, hitting, blocking, scoring, this game has it ALL man. There is no sport like it.

I think it is popular because it is distinct from every other sport. It is almot a remake of rugby with pads and more objectives than rugby. It is exciting to watch and play with friends and family. Most people like it because of the diversity that seperates it.

I think its just the best blend of all the other sports out there. It is a sport with the Athletecism of Basketball/Soccer/Tennis, the Toughness of Hockey/Rugby, and the overall appeal of BaseballI also think its very popular, because much more then any other sport out there, its a game of strategy. The X's and O's of football, the designed plays, the using one play to set the defense up for another later in the game, and the overall 'cat and mouse' strategy are what makes it so unlike any other sport.

It's a lot different then the rest of the popular American sports like Hockey, Baseball or Basketball. There is also a bigger chance that ANY team can beat ANY other team, even the most dominant looking teams can loose sometimes. I also think the NFL advertises a lot better then any other professional sport.

some credit has got to go to Paul Tagliabue and the administration, they created a great product, marketed it well and kept it relatively clean

The marketing and front office running it is doing a great job. Too bad Tagliabue is leaving [IMG]

Parody. Every team has a chance every year due to free agency and the salary cap. It's played once a week. The build up and speculation all week make the anticipation at an all time high by the time Sunday rolls around.Gambling and Fantasy Football. The violence of the sport. It translates well to television.

It's one of the only sports known to mankind where HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE teams can beat the untouchables and god-like teams of the league.
