Take a look at his numbers, He is 16th on the NBA's all time scoring list, He averaged 24.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 3.0 apg. He averaged over 30 ppg for 4 straight seasons. He shot 54% as a guard, Which is one of the highest in NBA history for a non center. Somebody please enlighten me on why he has yet to get his ticket to Springfield.
Audio of Wilts 100 point game If there is already a topic on this floating around somewhere, I apologize. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the night of March 2, 1962, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, right up the street from the chocolate factory, Wilt Chamberlain, a young and striking athlete celebrated as the Big Dipper, scored one hundred points in a game against the New York Knickerbockers. As historic and revolutionary as the achievement was, it remains shrouded in myth. The game was not televised; no New York sportswriters showed up; and a fourteen-year-old local boy ran onto the court when Chamberlain scored his hundredth point, shook his hand, and then ran off with the basketball. In telling the story of this remarkable night, author Gary M. Pomerantz brings to life a lost world of American sports. </div> http://probasketball.about.com/gi/dynamic/...crown%2Fwilt%2F
With Utah he was a great scorer. He played in the Magic-Bird era so he got less attention. In Detroit he was a good role player but he didn't win a title. He's just a good scorer. I don't think he deserves to be in the HOF.
