Is he kidding me? Seahawks/Raiders? The Raiders cared more about the Chiefs, Broncos and Chargers than the Seahawks. This is Redskins/Cowboys. And this guy played for over a decade in the NFL?

Jim Zorn is the NFL coaching equivalent of Sarah Palin--way over his head.

The Seahawks and Raiders did have somewhat of a rivalry like 10 years ago when they were in the same division

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I would say this is more like Biden saying FDR went on television. Silly, but doesn't really have any bearing on his ability to do his job.

Now, had he said he didn't really know what a 3-4 defense was, that would be more like Palin and a bit worrying in a head coach. ;)

The Seahawks don't really have any rivals. He was commenting on it from the Seattle perspective, not the Raider perspective. The Seahawks weren't anywhere near the Raiders' biggest rival, but maybe the Raiders were the Seahawks' biggest rival. They were in the same division when he played.

I'll be nice and let you sober up before I assault you via keyboard.

In a few years when Cowher is taking Snyder's money and he talks to the media about this game, just know he isn't telling the truth when he says it is the most intense rivalry he's every been involved in.

Um, yeah. When the Browns actually win something let me know. Until then, it's no rivalry. I know you're a Steelers fan, but tell me the last great Brown/Steelers game.

When I think of Jim Zorn quarterback, I think of the guy who got benched because too many of his passes were bounce passes. Hard to imagine him being a good coach.

    He sucks.

Let me tell you all something. When you have a crappy group of players you can cut them or trade them. When you have a crappy coach or GM, you can fire them. But when you have a crappy owner--and one who is in his early 40s and in excellent health--there's not a damn thing you can do about it but sit and take it. Dan Snyder will outlive me, which means I'll be stuck with his incompetence for the rest of my life.

You wonder why I constantly post how wonderful it is to have Paul Allen as the owner of the Blazers? It's because my other favorite team is owned by Dan Snyder.

maybe you will have to reprogram yourself to like another team.

    you are right snyder sucks.

paul allen has made his mistakes but he has dumped a ton of money into this franchise and has finally turned things around. i am glad he is our owner.

Everyone the Steelers win is a great game.

I'm also not talking about the current set of games, I'm talking about the ones Cowher played in as a player for the Browns as a native Pittsburgher.

    How old are you?

When I was growing up, the Seahawks and Raiders where a big rivalry. Now that they dont play in the same division the rivalry has died off.

    GO SEAHAWKS!

I'm old enough that I remember clearly a time when the franchise that became the Seahawks were being discussed for Portland.

As for the rivalry, it has to be two sided. It may have been a big rivalry to the Seahawks, but it wasn't to the Raiders. If you actually think you can compare Raiders/Hawks with Skins/Cowboys, then I don't really know what to say. For example, tomorrow's game will be the sole game on national television at 4:00 PM. I don't ever recall the Raiders/Seahawks being a national game. I recall Raiders/Broncos, Raiders/Chiefs, Raiders/Steelers and Raiders/Fins all being rivalries the nation was interested in. The Raiders/Seahawks? At its high point, it's somewhere at the level Cowboys/Cardinals.

Zorn might not have personal experience with a rivalry as big as Cowboys-Redskins and might look a bit silly when he tries to compare it to the rivalries he took part in as a player, but is he that much of an idiot? The Redskins are doing pretty well right now.
