Two league sources said the Nets contacted Malone's agent Dwight Manley. However, the Spurs are reported to have the inside track on Malone. Phone calls to Manley's office were not returned. </div></div>

I have been hearing on and off, about teams attempting to sign Malone. Apart of these teams are now the Nets. As can be read in this article. I do not know what Malone is thinking about, but I think that it would be in his advantage (to win a Chamionship) to go on Nets. If he were on the Nets, then they would have a legit big man to make the team 'big' in a rather small conferance. Only detroit and Miami, might then give the Nets fits in going to the Finals. And with the Nets' half-court woes supposedly fit with a good-shooting Carter, I think that the Nets would have a realistic shot at beating any west team (with Malone of course, and considering that he is still able to play well). Besides, he will get the minutes on the Nets, and have an easier time vieing for that scoring record.

Sure, now what nets need is a big-guy, and nets have a perfect back court.
I am glad that nets has contacted Malone, it's good for nets, and Malone is not expensive.

    C:Collins/Nenad Krstic
    PF:Malone
    SF:Jefferson
    SG:Carter
    PG:Kidd

I think at least can reach the estern finals...

Karl Malone isnt thinking about becoming a Net. He will stay retired before he becomes a Net honestly. The TNT cast(Sir Charles and Magic specifically) brought up an interesting name tho, last night when talking about our situation, Jayson Williams. Rebounding and defensively you can consider him a poor mans Karl Malone type. He just wont bring the 13 or 14ppg that Karl would probably bring. But he can possibly bring 8 or 9ppg. I dont think Rob Thorn will due it given Jayson Williams situation off the court. But on the court I think even after missing 5 years, he probably would be a good fit, cause he is a dirty work guy. And that is exactly what we need to go along with all the finesse we have out on the perimeter.
