Why the NBA always gets more bad press than the NFL

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The anti-NBA feeling is particularly irritating in the fall, when King Football sits on the throne, surrounded by adoring handlers. During a round of golf last week with three men I had just met, there were the customary murmurs of discontent when they learned about my NBA connection, followed by a question: "Hey, did you ever interview T.O.? I know he's a little crazy, but he seems kind of interesting." </div>

This is a good article talking about the hyppocracy how you always hear so much more negative stuff in the media about the NBA than you do about the NFL.

one theory: because the NFL's main audience is southern baptist bible-thumper "family men" and the NBA's main audience is cool cats with taste?

sorry can you tell i hate the NFL with a passion?

I don't know, but Baseball players have it even better. Maybe because Basketball is more intense than other sports. It's more in ur face and simply more competitive.

I have not felt much anti-NBA sentiment personally, but perhaps the reason is due to marketing, where the NBA (advertizers) markets more for African-Americans while the NFL (advertizers) to the non-minority markets. I certainly don't like the idea of there being a racial thing going on, but underneath it might be a racial thing.

Definetly more intense and more competitive. I think the fact that your going at it for 48 minutes straight is enough to show that. In baseball its slower, in football you have to start and stop every single play. Even though i dont like th NFL much, i still have to show city-pride

Personally I'm a big fan of both sports, I dont really understand why NBA manages to attract this bad publicity more so than the NFL, I mean the NFL has its fair share of screw ups, maybe even more so than the NBA. I guess they think NFL is a more 'family friendly' sport, and NBA is just for 'thugs and gangsters' [IMG]
