    I'm a little confused. Shouldn't game 6 have been in Detroit as per the way the playoff schedule is?
    This is what I was expecting
    1 & 2 = San An
    2 & 3 = Det
    5 = San An
    6 = Det
    7 = San An.

    Somebody fill me in??

    thats the playoffs but in the finals its:
    2 first is the best record
    then 3 away(pistons)
    then the last 2 spurs

    It was changed to 2-3-2 in 1985 so teams wouldn't have to travel as much.

    They changed it back to the 2-3-2 format, it was 2-2-1-1-1 until recently.

    Personally, I like the format too. It brings a challenge to both teams, as it has done in this series. Spurs had the pressure on them in Game 5, because Pistons had then tied the series 2-2 and had 1 more game at the Palace. The Pistons had the pressure in Game 6 and Game 7. They were/are facing elimination at San Antonio. This is a great format.
