I might think about it, I am getting a PS3 first. The Wii is a hands on system. It uses motions sensors. Im not sure if im going to get this or not, for some reason I dont want PS3, I much rather have a x360. For some reason I just dont want a PS3, im sure it will be great but I play sport games mostly, and I like madden and nba live much better on xbox.
I own an XBox 360, and I can honestly say that if I could have done it again I would have went for the Wii. Sure it might target a younger audience overall, but it still gives gamers a slew of titles aimed at older audiences. Resident Evil (4 I believe), for Gamecube alome was rated M and was supposed to be very gory. It is consistently ranked on lists as a Top 100 game ever, even Top 10 sometimes.Wii is also getting Call of Duty, which is aimed at older audiences. Yet we all know its pawnage. Then we have the classics like Zelda and Mario. All RPG games these days are based on titles like Zelda, simply because every game is incredible. I recently bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and while the game is good, it still doesn't touch any Zelda game I've ever played.Alot of people are simply reluctant to buy Nintendo products because of the presentation. People see games based on green dinosaurs and Italian midgets and they immediately think: "That's geeky, that's looserish." However, you will rarely find any specialized Nintendo product that is not atleast solid. I don't care what you say, you can't argue that Nintendo games are legendary, and you also can't argue that recent attempts and remakes of titles are not comparable. People, trust me, find a way to atleast play the Wii. Find a way to make yourself stop listening to the gay noises of Yoshi and the homosexual cries of Link, and just play these games.Take it from a guy who thought Nintendo was garbage, switched to XBox and discovered he'd made the biggest mistake of his life. Sure PS and XBox make a wider variety of games for older players, but its more about how fun a game is. Nintendo still produces fun games that people will always remember.I'm not discounting other systems - far from it. While I was dissapointed by my XBox, it is still a solid system. The same will go for both PS3 and Wii. I just urge you guys who are leaving Wii out of the picture to try it. Go and play Zelda. Try out Madden with the strange controller. Put aside all opinions you have of the games being childish and look at the good.Yeah Nintendo has gone downhil over the years, but they will always be THE system people remember and their content will always be the standard by which everything compares.
KMart is pretty much right on. Zelda is pretty much awesome. Metroid Prime is incredible. And if you haven't played Smash Bros., then you have no right to an opinion on any video game. The biggest problem with Nintendo products is that towards the end of the life of the system, they basically stop making games altogether. Nintendo is busy preparing games for its next system and 3rd party titles are only being made for other systems. That can definitely suck. And yeah, there'll probably be some games that just won't ever be on Wii. We'll see.The big thing for me is definitely the price tag. I'll be damned if I'm going to spend 600 bucks on a game system. 250 is high enough, but I might go for it, depending on how I feel in a few weeks. We'll see.The motion thing is pretty cool. They've used this technology before with that Kirby game... I don't remember what it's called and I'm not looking it up. Tilt and something. We'll see how well it translates.
