Almost every guard that comes into the league, whether they got game or not seem to choose #23 hoping to be the next Jordan . Will there ever be a time maybe 5-10 years from now when rookies would want to wear #8 on their jersey ? Will it take Kobe to win atleast 2 more titles and a few MVP awards for the youngsters to idolize him as they did to Jordan?
Interesting question, I think it's too, early in his career for Kobe Bryant to be hailed in the same regard. His effort last night helped his cause, and there's a lot of kids at every stadium rocking his jersey. He's also one of the leading vote getters in the All-Star game. I don't think you'll see as many #8's like you Jordan's, but there will definitely be a fair share of people trying to mimic Kobe's game.

I always wondered why no one wanted to take other numbers like Kobe's 8 or AI's 3. I think if Kobe scores alot and win more titles than people will start wearing 8. For some reason looking at the number 23 seems cool it makes you feel tingley inside
