Will Babbitt and Nolan Smith even get an invitation to some team's training camp?

They may as well go play Euroball, Babbitt would be pretty good in Europe.

I expect Babbit to get back to the NBA, he can put the ball in the hoop and there will always be a team that has an opening for that. He was lighting it up the last half of his second season here and almost led the league in 3pt%. I think he was more nervous and uncomfortable last season. It just wasn't clicking for him. Maybe he goes to Europe or is one of the #1 scorers in the D league and gets called up at some point.

I don't see Nolan Smith accomplishing anything though.

Babbitt will have a future in the nba. Nolan is a joke and only until he can prove otherwise; he will be lucky to play even in china.

Why wasn't Babbitt in Summer League? Smith was with the Celtics. If Babbitt can't be troubled to join the SL, then maybe he doesn't have time for the D-League, either.

Maybe Armon got his Euro team to offer Babbitt a spot.

All any team needs to see of Nolan is his two-minute stint last year in the second quarter against Cleveland at the Rose Garden. Worst stretch of basketball by a single player I've ever seen.

Nolan, I think, could do very well in Europe. Europe seems to find a place where small SGs (i.e., tweeners) can flourish. My only worry is that he'll be too proud and just bounce around on 10-day contracts instead of going to France or somewhere and sharpening his PG skills (like Patrick Beverley and Brian Roberts) and working his way back to a solid backup job.

Babbitt strikes me as an Anthony Morrow type: needs to latch on with a particular kind of coach and he'll be fine. He can actually do two things: shoot threes and rebound. That's one more than Steve Novak.

Nolan Smith was on Boston's summer league team, but got injured and didn't play (much?). Babbitt wasn't on any roster. But I think Babbitt has the better chance to catch on with someone lacking talent like us last year. He has the one needed skill!!

I still don't think I've ever heard of a guard of decent size (6'2") who got 21 pts and 5 asst at a major college, had no big injuries and couldn't even get on as a back up guard (either position).

Any player, told to always shoot a lot, will have a 5-minute hot stretch, as Babbitt does, only about twice per season.

Anyone who thinks he's a good shooter goes only by season stats. Watch him play.

Good example. Doesn't happen very often--except to us?

When I go back and look at the 2010 and 2011 drafts, I am astounded this team is where it is today. We totally pissed away two consecutive drafts. And 2009 wasn't much better, at least we still have Victor Claver on the roster from that draft.

Three consecutive years of really bad drafting (just go back and look at who we could have had), combined with losing Roy and Oden to injuries, should have set this team back by about 10 years. It's a real testament to Neil Olshey that he was able to turn this sinking ship around so quickly. He snagged the ROY in last year's draft and has completely rebuilt our bench, turning it from our biggest weakness into a strength, and added a new starting center, without giving up any of our key players. This team now has a very good mix of experienced veterans, guys in their primes, and young, hungry players with a lot of potential. Way to go Neil!

Pritchard depended totally upon the draft, being untalented at trading, and then showed no talent at drafting, either.

A couple of years ago, we assembled a good veteran team for the average NBA coach, but McMillan proved he doesn't qualify. Let's hope it turns out better this time.

Can we add Elliot Williams to the players we're worrying about?

What ever happened to Rodrigue Beaubois? Also Ronnie Brewer, Boobie Gibson, Darius Morris and Tyrus Thomas.
