Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Favre goes out a winner, but is he gone for good?Associated PressCHICAGO -- After shredding the Chicago Bears in an otherwise meaningless 26-7 victory for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, Brett Favre certainly sounded like a man who was ready to leave the game.Standing on the 20-yard line at Soldier Field after taking a photo with his offensive linemen, Favre got choked up during a TV interview, saying he would decide "soon" whether he would retire or return next season."If this is my last game, I want to remember it," Favre said, his voice cracking and tears streaming from his eyes. "It's tough. I love these guys. I love this game. What a great way to go out against a great football team. I couldn't ask for a better way to get out."Still, Favre stopped short of saying he was retiring. Asked whether he had already made up his mind in a brief interview session after the game, Favre would not comment."For us, that was our Super Bowl today," Favre said. "If it was the last game, I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome."Favre still has a milestone to pursue: After completing 21 of 42 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown Sunday, he is only seven touchdown passes shy of breaking Dan Marino's career mark of 420. With the Packers' victory, Favre tied Marino for No. 2 in career victories (147) and is only one away from tying John Elway for the record.</div>For More - http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2715950
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! Pull a Joe Montana! Go to some team, lead them to the playoffs, and yea!
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! He should just retire and get out before the Packers get even worse.
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! I think it's funny how at the beginning of the year he said this was one of the most talented, young teams he's been on, and everyone laughed at him. Figured they would be the laughing stock of the league and get the #1 pick. Now, he almost made the playoffs.
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! He'll be back. The Pack have a lot of money under the cap and the team and everyone is now a year older, as 27 of the players were either rookies or sophomores
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! I think there's a good chance he will retire, but I really want him to play, as that would be the best for him IMO.
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! Update: Packers coach says decision is based on Brett's Personal and Family issues.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Packers coach says Favre's return to depend on familyESPN.com news servicesMILWAUKEE -- Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday he believes Brett Favre's decision on whether he will return next season will depend on personal and family issues."It really has nothing to do with the team," McCarthy told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday in Miami, where the Super Bowl will be played Sunday. "I think Brett's questions last year were with regards to so many new things: new coach, new staff, [new] terminology, new players."Those things are apparently not part of the mix this time, McCarthy said. With Favre's future undecided, Green Bay fans might wonder how the veteran quarterback is spending his time while weighing whether or not to return for a 16th season with the Packers."He was power-washing the driveway when I talked to him," McCarthy told the newspaper.Favre, spending the offseason at his home in Hattiesburg, Miss., as usual, had said a week earlier that he hadn't made a decision but planned to call McCarthy. The coach said Tuesday the two talked by phone a couple days earlier, and he didn't know when Favre would make his decision. But he didn't get any indication that an announcement was imminent."It was a very good talk," McCarthy told the newspaper. "It always is. I've never felt any of our talks were [not fruitful]. Even all through last year."A year ago, Favre's decision-making dragged on until late April."I know from the outside people were frustrated with the waiting, but the man has played a long time and it's a process he has to go through," McCarthy told the newspaper. "And he's going through it again. There's nothing wrong with talking through it."The Packers recovered from a 1-4 start last season and finished with an 8-8 record after a victory in the final game over the Chicago Bears, the eventual NFC champion.</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2749289
Re: Will Favre Retire - 2007 Thread! He'll never retire. Hey, as long as he keeps throwin picks I don't care if he's there. I want to see him break the single season AND career interception record. On another note... Poor aaron Rodgers who is going to turn out to be a huge bust if he doesn't get his chance sooner or later.

I also want him subject to the Bears torturing him for years to come. On a side note, in my Madden Game, I just created a monster player, 7-foot, 415 all muscle no fat. I created him with the intention of injuring Favre. Worked real good. Busted his knee
