I say yes. He should be able beat it.

He needs to take more shots per game but he is on an incredible space right now.

Some might say that hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports. Well, how about trying to get a shot off with a seven-foot tall NBA player looking to reject your shot? Or an athletic and aggressive defender all over you once you get the basetball in your hands? How about having to deal with both of these types of players in the NBA playoffs where every shot counts? Yeah, it's a very difficult thing, but the below players made it look easy.

NOTE: Minimum 300 field goal attempts to qualify.

    1. Kurt Rambis - 57.37%; 284-for-495 (139)
    2. Otis Thorpe - 56.91%; 321-for-564 (78)
    3. Mark West - 56.62%; 201-for-355 (95)
    4. Shaquille O’Neal - 56.58%; 1970-for-3482 (198)
    5. Kevin McHale - 56.13%; 1204-for-2145 (169)
    6. Bernard King - 55.93%; 269-for-481 (28)
    7. Darryl Dawkins - 54.64%; 542-for-992 (109)
    8. Cedric Maxwell - 54.51%; 375-for-688 (102)
    9. James Worthy - 54.40%; 1267-for-2329 (143)
    10. Larry Nance - 54.12%; 440-for-813 (68)

    Active players in bold.
Number of playoff games in parentheses.

Those appear to be the records for career playoff FG%, not single regular season FG%.

    Here's the correct link

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/fg_pct_season.html

    1. Wilt Chamberlain* .7270 1972-73
    2. Wilt Chamberlain* .6826 1966-67
    3. Artis Gilmore .6703 1980-81
    4. Artis Gilmore .6523 1981-82
    5. Wilt Chamberlain* .6492 1971-72
    6. Nene Hilario .6429 2008-09
    7. James Donaldson .6370 1984-85
    8. Chris Gatling .6328 1994-95
    9. Steve Johnson .6318 1985-86
    10. Artis Gilmore .6313 1983-84

Joel is currently 44-53, or 83%. At this point we're roughly one fifth through the season, so hes gonna need to start putting up more shots to even qualify. He has never made more than 200 in a single season before.

    300 shots to qualify.

Edit: To clarify that's 300 shots made, not attempted.

crap, if thats true he has no chance. he needs to get his percentage up to 99% so he can take and miss 50 shots on purpose his last game.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If he shoots at that clip, he may well make 300 baskets.

Would 99% even still be considered a "clip," at that point? :dunno:
