Just wondered what Chelsea fans thoughts are on Gallas? do you regret letting him go? Was Ashley Cole worth it? In my opinion you have lost out on the title this year probably because of this foolish transfer on the last day of the window. Gallas was requesting equal wages to that of Terry etc. which i believe he deserved as he is one of the best central defenders in the world. maybe if you'd have granted this request(and lets be honest it wouldn't mean anything to Abramovich) you'd still have Gallas and in the time of need, when Essien and Ferriera were playing centre backs and Hilario was in goal you'd have had him to steady the line and stop goals going in. Thoughts?
I for one regret him going and agree that it has made a difference to our PL title challenge. He IS one of the best and his partnership with Terrie was exceptional. I'm not one to believe everything I read in the press though and suspect that the reason he left was a little more complicated than simply being wages related- as you say, Chelsea can afford it. I understand he was also getting fed up with playing out of position and wanted to move back into the centre. A little amusing seeing as he seems to have played most of his games at Arsenal as full back. Still, wish he was still at the Bridge.
Agree that Gallas should have beeb paid same if not close to what other were earning, but do all defenders in arsenal earn the same as each other Still rankles me that we let him go but not sure if arsenal GOT the better deal, cole is younger than gallas. I would have not sold him to a rival fullstop. Also Gallas was injured over the same period as JT and other cfc players, whose to say that the same would not have happened if he was still at cfc. pointless arguing about it now. Don't think Gallas cost us the title circumstances did. Good luck to him
