QUOTE

Ricky Williams' 2007 season reportedly lasted just six carries.

The Miami Dolphins running back, who was reinstated last month after a one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, suffered a torn chest muscle in the Dolphins' 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, the Palm Beach Post reported, citing an unnamed source.

    ...

"It's just sad," Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg, told the Post. "As hard as he's worked. He worked so hard physically to get back into shape and in therapy. He worked so hard for that moment and to have it end this way is sad."

I figured he was done after he had a 2.4 rushing average and a fumble in his first start (at least thats what his average was when the graphic popped up mid-game). This is just icing on the cake; let it go ricky, let it go.

He got hurt on a freak play when he got stepped on by a rookie LB.

But no one could run in those conditions. I wouldn't put anything on what he did in that game.

I didn't think he could be more disappointing than he was last year with the Argo's, but I stand corrected.

I think this was because Lawrence Timmons stepped on him.

Rickey's year is a microcosm of the year that the entire team is having - over from the very beginning.

I do feel bad for him. He worked his ass off to get back into shape. I wonder if he'll even try again next year?

Miami hopes so. He is their main trade leverage, and I'm sure they want him to show up in shape, so they can stick a fat price tag on him. Will his shoulder injury be a factor now?

You know, Williams seems like one of those players whose career would be completely turned around in New England. I know there were some reports earlier this season about New England really liking Ronnie Brown...what abour Ricky Davis? He could easily be their new Cory Dillon.

Miami's main trade leverage in the offseasonis that #1 overall pick if they don't win more than 2 games.

Williams has no value at all. It would probably cost a team a 7th rder. Even then, I don't know if anyone would bite.

Well, in order for that to happen, he's going to need people to block for him. What team is he going to win the rushing title with? If you don't know what team he will play for, then you can't make that guarantee.
