I havent delved into Vista too much - but from the surface - I see they've added a program called Windows Mail; which is just a Windows version of Microsoft Outlook - that way you don't need Microsoft Office Package to have a mail client. Also - they addded the Side bar app, which is surprisingly helpful. There is also a new system which functions as a measurment of your computer. Before if you were buying a game or something the box would say you need: Minimum Requirements:1.7 Ghz Pentium Processor256 mg RAMVideoX video Driver...etcNow theres a system using a numbers - the thing measures your computers specifications and it gives you a number 1-5. 5 is the best, 1 the worst. Most of the differences are visual, and just total upgrades of what was already on XP - its really nice though.*Here's something that gets a bit annoying at times. In an effort to increase the overall security of Windows - they implemented this system that asks you for tons of things to allow or block - you can disable it - but still very annoying at times. Although, I must say - it stops a lot of adware, and unknown spyware that tries to instal itself on your PC.

The main focus being on security, however if you plan on playing games or using Photoshop possibly I don't suggest changing yet due to driver issues.

I got Vista the day it came out. It actually is more or less an update. No really major new applications. And it is sometimes hard to find your way around your computer (only natural with new applications). But for those of you who use excel, access, etc. I would highly reccomend picking it up. It SOO much easier finding your way through them once you get the hang of it.

But I don't care about gaming too much.I won't update too lazy, and I can't be bothered paying for it - just bought a Dell in August. But if someone gets the disc I may borrow it. :dribble:
