But the money isn't going to change. "We made an offer, we made our pitch," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said on Monday. "But this being a cap world, we've made lots of commitments. We don't have a lot of wiggle room." The Wings have 20 players signed for approximately $55.7 million. The salary cap is $59.4. Holland said he wants to maintain a cushion of about $750,000 below the cap as insurance against injuries during the season. Thus, he has about $3 million left.
