The anger is starting to bubble. A 2nd in 2016 not even 2015. If Sather sits this out I will FLIP OUT.

    This angers me.

lets hope Winnik doesnt build on the 34g 0g 4a in the playoffs.....seems like alot for him though, I'd rather than give AZ a package like that for Vermette

99% of deals take place on deadline day so I'm not sure what there is to be angry at. Especially if it's a player the Rangers weren't rumored to be in on.

I am not going to get hung up on the playoffs numbers. Vermette doesn't have great playoff numbers either. Every playoff season is different.

Now with that said, I agree with you and rather have Vermette. SO I fully 100% reserve judgment. That is why I said IF he sits this one out I will flip out. Not flipping out yet. Maybe he will do better than Winnik. I reserve judgment until Monday.

Again, fair point Mess, and that is my main point as well like I just said to strud. I am not going to get all upset or flip out on Sather. He gets until Monday, but you can bet your a** if we do nothing this trade will be one that I say WTF Sather.

Dreger - /25/15 | 4:55PM: The Rangers and Jets were the most interested teams besides Pitt in Winnik but both told Toronto they were out on him last night. (Dreger)

I really think Vermette is coming here for a similar package..........Winnik is useful for us but Sekera and Vermette would be ideal

    Scratch off Sekera

Not saying that's a good deal for the Kings but who wants to play that team in a 7 game series. NOT ME

That better mean we were out because we have a bigger/better deal in the works.

We were never getting both of those guys. Makes sense for the Kings as they needed a dman. We could not give up a 1st for a rental 3rd pair dman (which is what he would have been for us).

I still think Vermette will be here. Have felt that for the past week or so Dis.

Kings scary again. The West is tough. 5 or 6 legit teams out there.

And Pitt just got much tougher in the East. Winnik is a good fit for their needs.

Good job by Sather not giving up a second. Winnik is a role player is 0 G in 28 playoff games. Good for our 4th line. Not at the expense of a 2nd round pick.

Don't forget dump, we meet at the SC parade in 2022 when hopefully all the picks on the 20's and 50's pay off for us. We'll sit with Hank in the stands since he will be retired...LOL.

I actually think the 2nd round pick 57 will be he next Gretzky. WE CANNOT DEAL THAT PICK. I agree dump. Stud for sure.

Dont worry Chuck we wont win then either. We'll be a piece or two away but we'll be holding on to our second round pick for dear life so we might have a shot in 2026.

I would have traded a second (considering we have TWO) for Winnik and I would have done it a month ago. UNLESS that second is going to get us Vermette, then I'm cool with letting Winnik pass by. Otherwise, we just struck out looking Beltran style.

You and I have the EXACT same thinking on this Prod. Sather gets his rope from me until Monday (or maybe sooner if Vermette gets dealt elsewhere). But if we are sitting here and these teams we are battling add players, and we do nothing, or add some small piece, I will be furious just like I was in 2012. Clearly this WInnik deal should have been in our wheel house, but we passed. Now maybe we passed because we have a bigger deal about to happen, but if not I will be very angry.

But the plus is we'll have the 52nd and 53rd picks in this draft. Start up the hall of famer bus.

You know, maybe we should hang on to that 2nd after all. I mean going back to 2007, we have found some absolute studs in the second round. Just look at this all-star lineup:
    - Brandon Halverson (jury out, could be a keeper)
    - the mightily impressive, physically dominant BOOOOO Nieves who is just TEARING UP the college scene right now
    - the imposing Christian Thomas, man what a scoring machine (in the OHL)
    - the ABSOLUTE STUD Ethan Werek
    - Derek Stepan (hey we hit one!)
    - the one, the only, Antoine Lafleur (so good that even though he never played an NHL game, I heard theyre putting him straight into the hall of fame.
For every Brandon Dubinsky and Michael Sauer we find, more often it'll be a Dane Byers, a Marc-Andre Cliche, a Bruce Graham, a freakin Darin Olver. Remember that name? I mean come on, what is the deal here?

Great stuff Prod. Picks in the late 40's/50's are at best a crapshoot. But we have to stock-pile those.

That Winnik deal is going to piss me off if we do nothing.

A whatever player, a pick in the late 40's or 50's NEXT SEASON, and a total coin flip to be in the NHL 4th round pick.

Give me a break. What is the deal here is right. Don't F up Sather. Not 2012 again.
