I had originally placed this in the design forum but I figure it's better off here. Any of you familiar with the football (soccer) title Winning Eleven (PES)? If you have played the games before and you're a fan of the series then you know that they don't carry too many licenses but sport the best gameplay. Well, for a short time I modded the crap out of this series just for fun. Adding licensed kits, emblems, and whatever else was needed to make the game more realistic. Including improving the graphical overall ability of the game during play. As you can see from the pictures, it's quite a site to see. Not all of the kits (jerseys) are my designs, but I made sure that some of my work was included in each picture. If anyone has Winning Eleven 9 for the PC I'll be more than glad to send you over some of my modded junk that you can have a go with.
I downloaded Pro Evolution Soccer 4 for the PC a year or two ago. Gameplay was pretty good and all, but I like the organized league formats. Recently, I've found myself more into the managing aspect of Euro soccer than actually playing. I used to be a big fan of Championship Manager and now follow the Football Manager series closely. It's just so much more fun and addictive.

Now however, I find that with modding on Winning Eleven for PC it blows Championship Manager out of the water by nearly all aspects. It's now ten times more creative with all of the tools for you to edit things or just simply download files from well over 500 websites. That's why I switched over; it's just way too deep and exciting with the new realistic motion-capture animation. Championship Manager however still owns on behalf of the reasons that you can take control of any team from even the lower divisions such as Serie C. But it still doesn't support all leagues and as it doesn't have any real gameplay to it to take up space it really should. Eccellenza to Terza Categoria are left out among others and in order to be as deep as they claim as a manager series that's just crap. The best thing though is that it has the best managing tools around, that's why I originally got hooked on it. But since it's no longer as deep in general as the other style of games I can't look back on it now.
Try Football Manager. It runs on the old CM machine (best by far) and is quite like the CM games before 03/04. IMO, it's more deep than FIFA or PES could ever be.

He has also switched over. It's just too realistic now compared to anything else on the market. However, for those that can't mod or play WE (pes) on PC because of a poor video card or performance then I would first suggest Football Manager or Championship Manager right off the bat. FIFA? FIFA has always been crap, whether it's their manager series or crappy regular game. Too many glitches and problems, not that deep. It's only strong point is that it has a decent manager mode in the regular game, and that doesn't even hold up against Football or Championship. Winning Eleven again, the mods are just further ahead. I love my work. Robinho!

You can mod the hell out of Football Manager too, and it's a blast. I just went ahead and made the legit Arsenal squad for this season, and I'm head of the table all over again. Having Tomas Rosicky and Javier Saviola in the middle of the field with Cesc and Robin Van Persie is a whale of a time for defenses to figure out. Enough of that tangent, I'm just saying I love playing FM2006, but I'm not in love with it, and would love to see how Winning Eleven plays. Thanks for helping us out with mods, that'll make it a little easier to adjust for me. I'll hit you up later about those mods. I forget, but isn't Winning Eleven called something different in the states, I had done some reading, and I thought that's what was said. Aside from that, looking at those caps, you see that Winning Eleven has all the eye candy that FM2006 lacks because of its strictly simulation design. Fun nevertheless, being a gamer from way back I'd love to see some graphics to go with it, and FIFA World Cup 2006 didn't do it for me, legit or not.
Mod the game? Mod like this? Also Winning Eleven is the version for the US. The Euro version is titled Pro Evolution Soccer. For instance Winning Eleven 9 = Pro Evolution Soccer 5. I don't like FIFA games, there's a glitch where if you run up the right side with the ball and cross it with your striker near the keeper you will automatically score a goal. Isn't that just exciting?
