"The Patriots are 8-2 under Bill Belichick after regular-season bye weeks and haven't lost such a game since 2002.

That bodes well for the 3-1 Pats, who are off this weekend and return to face the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Belichick is renowned for his game planning so it's no surprise the extra week of preparation has yielded positive results.

"The coaches do a good job of getting us prepared and making sure we're not only focusing on the team we're playing, but what we're doing as a team ourselves and making sure that we're correcting mistakes that we've made in the previous weeks," linebacker Tully Banta-Cain said. "It's a good week to reflect on what we've got and really get some extra preparation in."

The Pats have spent time during the bye week self-scouting in order to make improvements."
