This should be considered an opinion piece because it's complete b.s. Kurt Rambis has been angling for a head coaching job the last 3 years and finally found a situation he wanted. Brian Shaw has also interviewed with other teams. There's no guarantee Shaw or Rambis would take over for PJax after PJax retires. Kobe Bryant will have some input, but isn't going to be the person making the final decision. The Buss family will make the final decision on the direction of the team, they always have. They made the decision to hire Rudy T when PJax originally left and they made the decision to re-hire PJax. Brian Shaw will have to earn the job as next head coach of the Lakers. I think he'll be a natural at it and should excel no matter where he ends up.
Kurt Rambis was on the PMS show yesterday and talked about why he decided to take the Minnesota job. - Rambis will have a lot of say in personnel moves and Kahn will work to get him the players he wants - Rambis said the main reason he took the job was Phil's health. He said PJax's health has really improved and he wouldn't be surprised to see him coaching the Lakers for another 4 or 5 seasons. PJax is refreshed and has a lot of years left on the sidelines.
