<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Finally read a sort of depressing pre-draft Q&A with Wiz second-round draft pick Dominic McGuire, the kid from Fresno State. Among his thoughts, given to the Fresno Bee:

"I'm getting great feedback right now and I'm confident that when the draft comes, I will be a first-round draft pick."

"I think unless you're actually working with an NBA team, you don't really know what's going on in the inside. Trust me, I wouldn't be leaving Fresno if I wasn't sure I would be a high pick. "</div>

It just talks of him expecting to go high, and that he was supposed to be a first round pick. He's not dissapointed in going to Washington, he's dissapointed that he went so low. I'm not liking him to Arenas in terms of how good he'll be, but if he can get the same kind of motivation that Arenas had from going so low, and really work on his game, this could get exciting. The guy has so many tools, even more than Blatche right now, while being a more athletic player. I'm not expecting an All-Star or anything, but he can really be a solid player on the team down the road. He needs to stay playing with the team though, and not in the D-League because he needs to learn the offense.

If he can learn the Princeton offense, add a corner three and be able to drive and finish once in a while by next year; he's a great guy to have on the floor especially when playing against the Lebron's of the league, and his rebounding, athleticism, and shot blocking ability won't hurt at all.

Well, nothing's a guarantee in the NBA Draft where you could land anywhere if your not a Greg Oden or Kevin Durant. I don't think he should be all that worried about landing as far as he did in the Draft. It just means that there's not as much pressure and expectations for you as if you were to get drafted to a struggling team in the first round.

It's funny how this team can relate a lot to each other. Gilbert, Caron and Nick Young each had struggles and problems growing up with Gil and his dad living in the van when he was young, Caron's life on the streets which could've destroyed his life if it wasn't for basketball, and Nick Young who lost his brother at the age of 5, flunked out of 2 high schools before struggling to finish at Cleveland High. Then you have Gilbert Arenas who keeps complaining about how he got drafted too low and I guess him and Dominic can relate on that.
