The consensus is the Wizards have hit a plateau, but have the star power in Gilbert Arenas to make a deal.

Arenas is talking about opting out of his contract after this season. He's from Los Angeles and has become a star, one of the league's highest-scoring players and an engaging personality who would embrace the Hollywood scene. He would meet the Lakers' demands for an All-Star player if they trade Bryant.

"Watch out for them," the general manager said, meaning the Wizards. -- Chicago Tribune

Re: Wizards a I don't see Kobe agreeing to this deal. I know he's close friends with Caron Butler, but the Wizards wouldn't vastly improve in this deal and you could argue the current Laker squad is better than this team.

Re: Wizards a This deal will not happen. If it did, the Wiz would be poor at PG, and packed a SG with Kobe and Caron. The Wiz already have an all-Star SG, why would they want another. Bad deal for the Wiz.

Re: Wizards a Since when was Deshawn Stevenson an all-star shooting guard? Caron Butler has had zero problems playing at the 3, matter fact he's improved a lot every year since playing the 3 for us. Antonio Daniels is more than capable of starting point guard for any team, with the experience and talent he has at his age. I'd like this trade for us, but that could probably put us in that Boston Celtics situation where we have to win now, or it's never. Antawn Jamison's contract is up the upcoming off-season and the Eastern Conference is getting stronger by the transactions.
