The backup guard had rallied Washington from an 18-point, third-quarter deficit and the worst first-half offensive showing in franchise history. Then, with Washington up five points and just under five minutes remaining, Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas suffered a lower abdominal injury that forced him out of the game. The Seattle SuperSonics took advantage, finishing with a surge in an 88-85 victory Sunday night at Key Arena. </div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The immediate postgame diagnosis was a lower abdominal strain, but Arenas will be examined by the SuperSonics' team doctor Monday morning. He was the one bright spot that this team had. Chris Whitney, Steve Blake, Dixon and Brevin Knight will all need to step up their game to make up for the loss of Arenas.
Full recap on Sonics forum if anyone's interested. Great second half fightback by the Wizards, had a bench scoring advantage of 32-1! Radmanovic was clutch down the stretch though.
Kwame had a nice game...some easy buckets but he had some nice boards instead of the ones that just end up in his hands...he showed nice low post moves, i think he is finally getting into a rythm in this offense...his last three games....15 pts, 8 pts, 17 pts...could it be another flash or is he finally settling down..only time will tell...as for Gil's injury...that is a major blow because i dont think hughes and dixon click right...personally i dont like hughes i think he shoots to many bad shots...i would rather have himj off the bench behind dixon...and i wouldnt mind benching Hayes for a game or too...he seems to of hit a wall early..these next to games against the blazers and lakers should be a massacre...im hoping we can hold it together while Arenas is out
