Traveling way too much recently and have not seen any games live. Anybody have any reports? Based on the highlights and some articles I saw sounds like Perrault is making a point of getting shots on net and getting to the high danger areas. Some of the knocks against him were that he shied away from those spots at times and played a more perimeter game. Glad to see he's worked on that. Kid could be a real weapon for us. We desperately need one of these picks up front to do something while on an ELC. Most of the buzz has obviously been about Perrault, but anyone know how Fortescue has looked? Quietly we have a defensive LHD on the top pair of a very strong team. Would be huge for our organizational depth chart if we have something here.
Less you hear about a stay at home defenseman the better. Means he's doing his job well. Robertson probably can come up and play better than Miller. Boyko had a shutout in his Pack debut this season. I would not be surprised if a team like the Av's came after Quick at the deadline. My worry about all these young wingers we have coming or that are up is there are no young centers for them to grow with. It's a huge problem.
True. I'm hoping to catch him today to see how he moves. For stay-at-home guys with the size, physicality, gap control and correct first-pass instincts, the one thing that often holds them back at the next level is skating. They could. Avs overhauled their goalie tandem but just lost Wedgewood. Blackwood has looked very good for them but he has an injury history as well. They've traded a ton of capital for goalies already, they will need someone who is both cheap and reliable. Could be Quick. The lack of young C talent with top 6 upside is alarming. It has been that way for some time. Drury is either going to overpay in a trade or blow money in FA. Friedman was on his podcast again talking about VAN and Petterson/Miller. One of those guys is going to be traded out of there. Petterson is the better and younger player but from what I have seen he is not the type of player we need. Extremely talented, but another passive Swede who loves pond hockey and shies away from physicality. Sound familiar? Every time I think about our C organizational depth chart I get mad about Lias all over again.
