Pax is such a good guy. This doesn't square with screaming at Vinnie more recently about not playing Noah enough (37 minute limit in that 2OT game).

Reminds me of Marcus Fizer. We drafted him and forced him to play SF. Then we figured out to play him at PF and he put up a 17.9 PER for most of a season. Then he gets hurt. Instead of letting him fully rehab, Pax ordered Cartwright to play him, and Cartwright did. Long before Fizer was fully rehabilitated. It made me cringe to even see him trying to move around on the court, he wasn't ready and was obviously in pain. His career was basically finished when he went down with another injury. Fizer ended up basically a cripple (though he later played or tried to), suffering multiple knee injuries.

I cannot fathom why anyone likes Paxson.

one of the funniest stories ive read this year; probably a close second behind the report of arenas defecating in blatche's shoes. i actually kinda sympathize with paxson on this one because noah is an asset and in the cost-reward analysis- noah's long term health eclipses a chance at the 8th spot

So who goes this summer? Paxson, Vinnie or both?

    Vinnie.

I really hoped that Vinnie was hired to replace Paxson - Vinnie was director of player personnel for Phoenix, and had zero coaching experience.

Maybe the Bulls will finish at 41-41 this season, just like last season. Given the talent he has to work with, I think he's done a fine job (so do the TNT announcers tonight...). Plus look at how he's developed young players like Rose and Gibson and Noah.

I don't know what to believe, exactly, but I'm inclined to think everyone who's not named Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah is very replaceable.

Beyond that, this story is just too whacked out get a handle on right now.

    Some confirmation from McGraw

One thing comes to mind is just how much more douchy this makes GarPax's handling of Vinny after the Nets game.

Sir Charles, "I'll take Vinnie over Paxson any time!"

Ya but I laughed out loud when he said he would take kenny on. Kenny told Chuck that he wouldnt last 30 seconds. Charles said that is all he will need. lol

I don't think anybody can fathom what your logic is based on either. Fizer has been playing for the last 10 years just fine. He was out of the league because he was a gunner as a player. He was the D-league MVP two or three years ago. And he's been playing in Israel.

This was obviously leaked by Vinnie and makes the Nets game look worse for him. He didn't play Noah to spite the team and Paxson. Paxson gave him the go ahead. Vinny was a mediocre coach at best, and now it looks like he is sabotaging the team by not playing Noah.

And the KC holding the story out of respect for Vinny is bullshit too. Vinny was trying to get the story out and obviously leaked it twice. So KC wasn't protecting Vinny in any way.

Is Vinny even paying attention here as the C's are starting to pull away? That's four or five questionable calls in a row and he's not even talking to the refs.

So if the story is true and Vinnie leaked it, are you supporting Paxson on this?

If it's true and even if Vinnie leaked, Paxson is the least suited guy to be a GM in the league since Isaiah Thomas.

I agree that KC is full of shit. He can really do a good worm impression when he wants to.

Re: Fizer, I don't know if he was pressured to be played, but I do think he wasn't the same player after wrecking his knee over and over.

    This Marcus Fizer?

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Marcus-Fizer-2425/stats/

Look at all those games he played. Nothing like an NBA season, eh?

    Just fine, my ass.

He suffered TWO knee injuries with the Bulls that effectively ended his NBA career. Gunner (in your humble opinion) or not, there'd have been a place for a guy who puts up 10/7 in 20 minutes on some team if he were healthy.

I suppose you would spin away Paxhole cutting Corrie Blount a day after he would still be eligible to catch on with a playoff team and play in the playoffs.

    http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...ie-blount-bulls-general-manager-john-paxson/2

I expect you to diss Blount, next. But you know, it doesn't raise Paxhole up to some higher level to knock all the guys he's mistreated.

I'm thinking Vinny is the obvious guy to leak the story out there. Who wouldn't after Gar came out and pretty explicitly contradicted him and said there wasn't any sort of restriction on Noah.

Now *THAT* was obvious bullshit, because otherwise why was Hunter running around the stadium looking for him and why was he calling up Pax (!!!) for authorization.

Fizer sucked when he had good knees. 17 PER?....Drew Gooden put up 19.7 PER in a full season at age 23.

He was Bulls' player of the month for 2 months right before his injury, FWIW.

The two previous seasons at SF, he absolutely sucked. Looked like a guy with PF skillset taking 3 pointers at a 19% clip.
