Wolves Move to 4-0 in Regular Season with 113-99 Road Win over South Bay

    The Iowa Wolves improved to 4-0 in the G League regular season with a 113-99 road win over the South Bay Lakers on Sunday night at the UCLA Health Training Center

    The Wolves were down to eight active players and missing two starters but took the lead for good in the second quarter after eight lead changes and four ties. In the game, Iowa had six players score double figures, including Isaiah Briscoe, who posted a triple-double with 15 points, a season-high 10 rebounds, and a season-best 12 assists.

    Vincent Edwards tallied a team-high 22 points while reserve Isaiah Miller poured in 20 points off the bench. Jordy Tshimanga posted a double-double with 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

    South Bay (1-2), which fell behind by 16 points in the fourth after Edwards' driving layup, pulled within six points with 2:40 left in the game. But, Iowa, answered with a three by Matt Lewis and his cutting layup between Miller's cutting layup.

    Lewis finished with 18 points, including knocking down four three-pointers. As a team, the Wolves made 12 three-pointers while they limited the Lakers to just 5-of-35 from deep. Mason Jones scored a game-high 28 points for South Bay.

    Brandon Sampson had 13 points while Malik Benlevi and Canyon Barry had nine and six points, respectively. Every Iowa played logged at least 16 minutes.

    Iowa continues its California trip visiting Agua Caliente Tuesday night (Jan. 18) for a 9 p.m. CT game that will be streamed on ESPN+.
