<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Kevin McHale today announced the team has signed free agent guard Darrick Martin for the remainder of the season and placed guard Troy Hudson on the Injured List with a left ankle sprain. Hudson will miss a minimum of five contests and will not be eligible to be activated until April 10. The Wolves' active roster stands at 12 players in advance of the team's game versus the Seattle SuperSonics this evening (7:00 CST) at Target Center.</div> Link All I can say is, finally! We needed a 3rd point guard, and Martin isn't a bad choice, he knows our system and he knows his role. I like this signing.
He should have never been cut from when Hudson came back from injury imo. But anyway, his play is going to be crucial to what seeding the t-wolves have in the playoffs because right now Sam looks tired. And he needs somone who can play like 15 productive minutes backing him up. So he can be fresh at the end of ball games to make the big plays & shots to help the wolves pull out these close games. If Martin is only playing like 8 or 9 minutes then that means Cassell will more than like be playing 40 minutes a game instead of 34 or 35. Those 5 or 6 extra minutes on the bench will allow him to be fresh down the stretch. So the better that Martin plays early in the game the more faith Flip will have for him in the 2nd half, which will allow Sam to get more rest. Hopefully, Martin can be productive. At this pace Sam going to worn down before the playoffs.
I also like this signing.Darrick knows the wolves system because he has already played for the team earlier in the season. So that is a plus. With Troy injured Darrick should be a good back-up pg. He could take some minutes from Sam to let him rest.I hope he can play well for the wolves.
