<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MINNEAPOLIS -- The injury-plagued Minnesota Timberwolves signed journeyman center Oliver Miller on Saturday, a day after center Michael Olowokandi had surgery on his right knee.

Olowokandi was placed on the injured list and will miss six to eight weeks.

Miller has been out of the NBA since 2000 when he played for Phoenix. He's averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in an eight-year career, including stops in Detroit, Toronto, Dallas and Sacramento.

Miller, a 6-foot-9, 315-pound center, spent the past two-plus seasons in the CBA.

I actually can't wait to see what kind of condition his body is in, it has been a few years since I have seen him.

I just have to wonder, can he help KG in the post as the post players are mostly injured?

He actually has some post moves. He can rebound well too. He is pretty talented. He was a good player on the Raptors btu then he got so fat.

If not for his condition, he could have been a 12-15 point, 7 board kind of guy, with a solid FG%.

He has always had great skill.

If you looking for old, washed up, huge guys, they should give Stanley Roberts a call.

I think he is just here while Olowokandi is injured, once he is back, he will be released. Have a fun 6 weeks Oliver. I thought there could have been better big men available, but apparently not.

If Wolves were looking for some fat guy who is past it why not sign Shawn Kemp?

He might even start... Or Tragic starts, we'll see.

When the Wolves signed Mad Dog and Hoiberg, us, Wolves-fans thought what a waste of salary... And they both proved that they are worthy ballplayers and good pickups. Even though there seemed to be better big men on the free agent market (Jelani McCoy for instance) McLenFlip must have had a reason to sign the Big O. I hope they know something we don't...
