QUOTE

Wolves Will Wait
Sep 19 - Owner Glen Taylor said the Wolves will likely wait until the team returns from training camp in Europe to get serious in talks to sign forward Al Jefferson to a contract extension.

The Wolves have until Oct. 31 to get that done. If Jefferson is not signed by then, he can't sign until after the season, when he would be a restricted free agent.

since Al was probably the main asset of the KG trade, it might be important to extend him ASAP. but, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do a la Paxson and wait till he's a restricted FA to see what the market is on him.

The Wolves could maybe save a little if they get it done now...if he keeps growing as a player, the price is going to go up. And even if he doesn't do great this season, I still think there will be someone who is going to throw a lot of money at him if he gets out into free agency.
