I've been saying and watching from 012-016, the Astro's local Minor A+ Lg Team's (t/- Lancaster Jethawks) rebuilding process of obtaining several years of #1 draft prospect's. By 014, I told anyone who would listen, the Stro's would be in t/ALCS by 017, and a W. Series by 018. I'd of loved nothing more than to had that prediction come true; as you see I said a Series by 018, which would of allowed for the Yanx to beat 'em, or another team. Tho' I never expected the Yanx to see PS this year (who did), at the seasons start, I'd rather see a W.S Classic Rivalry at its best: ie- Yanx/Bums of old, a throwdown of the ages; locally in so cal the 60's, and 77-78, 81. The Stro's many horrid losing years allowed the org to stockpile #1 First round draft picks, and other early picks; like Cashman finally learned. The Stro's have become an AL team, yet it wasn't that long ago they were playing in Chavez Ravine in the NL. It will be weird seeing an old NL team being the AL rep. Never have they won shit in Houston, a team I could get on my transistor radio, as a kid in their first years as the Houston Colt 45's, and boy did they suck, tho' they had some talent, ie Rusty Staub, Joe 'the racist' Morgan; and some washed up vets. Hell, even Don Larsen was a Colt 45 for a short time.... Once Nolan joined his son as a VP in charge of "Player Development"; it became obvious the talent level of Pitching, fielding and hitting increased expotentially, resulting in 2 Ca. Lg Championships in 3 appearances in 012, 014 and 016. Altuve, Springer, Correa, Bregman, Keuchel and a several others, spent 2-3 mos here, and headed upwards quickly..... I utterly despise the Bums.... Hope CK gets shelled, adds a few more HR's to his PS shit for play....
I understand where your coming from Rob, you are older and wiser then me. I always root against the team that knocks out the Yankees. After all I am a sore loser.
Me 3, I once enjoyed the Bums of Koufax/Drysdale, but never vs the Yanx; it's always Yanx all the way.... I may be older yeah, but wisdom hmph, that much I don't claim; only older memories that's all, lol.... the mind is like a closet, one can only put so much into, without first removing, before the closet's full, and some things gotta' go to make room for more....that's the eptiome of growing old(er)....
No Yankees, No Base Ball, Don't like either team. I'm counting the days until the winter trade meetings first, then to ST.
exactly, if you and no one else knew when you were born, or how old you are, then how old would you be....?
I just got back from the Dr's in LA, was 105-104 downtown, just a couple of hrs ago; from Noon to 3 pm.... While the usually hotter than hell Mojave Desert was but a paultry 91 degrees....
Kershaw's gonna' give up another HR or 2, maybe 4 like he did earlier in PS in but one game.... CK in the NLDS: 5.68 Era, with 4 HR's vs AZ, 6.1IP's and pulled early and often... CK in the NLCS, 2 more HR's, with a 2.45 Era in 11.0 IP..... the CK complete gamer has left the bldg.... Personally I want' to see Kershaw lose big time, I'm sick of hearing angelinos compare him to Koufax. He's never really proven himself yet in Post Season, and NO he he couldn't carry Koufax's jockstrap.....
I've never cared for the 2004 ex-Bosox, a member of the utterly despicable team... but I've gotta' hand it to him what he's accomplished in but short tenure...
Keuchel was very beatable these last two games, not the Ace Houston claims he is, a Cy Young winner like Kluber or Clubber, both losers this PS.....
